Olivia Thirlby gets ready for her close up at the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles’ Simply Shakespeare play reading held at the Freud Playhouse at UCLA on Thursday (September 27) in Westwood, Calif.

The 25-year-old actress, who was in vintage costume for the reading, was joined at the event by Tom Hanks with his wife Rita Wilson, and Community actress Gillian Jacobs.

Olivia recently shared how it was working with Karl to the press. She said, “It was a total joy to work with him and I think we were really good partners both in the world of the film and out. We spent a lot of time before shooting, really breaking down the script and tracking these two characters emotionally, and where they were with each other, how they felt about each other; mostly whether or not Anderson was passing or failing her assessment.”

The pair co-star in the play at the 2econd Stage Theatre is about a man (Grace) who tries to get a date and a job four years after having a nervous breakdown and shutting his life down. He meets an ambitious young businesswoman (Thirlby) who is overcoming her own obstacles to emotional success.
