Once Upon a Time is officially coming back for another season!

The hit ABC fairy tale show has been renewed for a full 22-episode seventh season set to air this fall.

Earlier this week, Jennifer Morrison announced that she will not be returning to the show after this current season ends as she is looking forward to some time off from TV.

Fellow stars Ginnfer Goodwin and Josh Dallas have also been vocal about possibly leaving after season six, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, and Colin O’Donoghue have all signed on to return for season seven.

The season six finale of Once Upon a Time is set to air this Sunday on ABC.

Jennifer Morrison spoke with TV Line about her decision to leave Once Upon a Time.

The 38-year-old actress explained why exactly she made the decision to leave the series and she has been starring on the show since the beginning.

“It’s a tricky decision to make, because all those things are very attractive. But the other side of that is I did six years on House, I did a year on How I Met Your Mother, I did six years of Once Upon a Time – that’s collectively 13 years of network television back-to-back, which is a-ma-zing and the best thing that’s ever happened to me, but it’s a grueling schedule,” Jennifer said.

Jennifer Morrison has announced that she will be leaving her beloved ABC series Once Upon a Time after the end of the current sixth season.

The 38-year-old actress has decided not to renew her contract, which is up at the end of the season. If the show gets a seventh season, she has agreed to appear in one episode to help wrap her character Emma Swan’s storyline.

Jennifer took to Instagram on Monday morning (May 8) to announce the news in a letter to fans.

“As I reached the end of my 6 year contract on ONCE UPON A TIME, I was faced with a significant decision. ABC, Eddy Kitsis, and Adam Horowitz very generously invited me to continue as a series regular. After very careful consideration, I have decided that creatively and personally, it is time for me to move on,” Jennifer started the note.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Ginnifer and Josh are considering leaving the show after this season.

As of now, the married couple have not commented on whether or not they will return for season seven of OUAT.

It appears that Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas might be leaving Once Upon a Time at the end of the current sixth season and the show itself could be getting a reboot for season seven.

Deals for all actors on the ABC fantasy series are up at the end of the season and Ginnifer and Josh, who are married with children in real life, reportedly are planning on this being their last year on the show, according to Deadline.

ABC Studios is looking at rebooting Once Upon a Time with original cast members Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, and Colin O’Donoghue as the focus.

“Regardless of what we decide to do at the end of this season, I think (the show’s creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis) think they would put a little bit of a bow here, and then there is a next piece that comes after that,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in January while hinting at the reboot. “There will be a little bit of closure in this particular narrative.”

The Once Upon a Time co-stars were joined by executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and they revealed that a musical episode will happen this season!

Not many details were revealed except that the episode will likely air in the spring, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 37-year-old star of the show took to Instagram to react to winning Choice TV: Liplock with Colin O’Donoghue at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards.
