Ozempic is taking over in Hollywood and beyond.

The once-weekly injectable medication was created to help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar, but is also known for its weight loss effects, which some celebrities have used for that reason…and that reason alone.

Despite Ozempic becoming a growing weight loss trend, a plastic surgeon confirmed to Us Weekly in March 2023 that it was never meant for people who are near their ideal weight, and that “it’s not even approved by the FDA for casual weight loss.”

Regardless, some celebrities have and still take Ozempic for weight loss. Others have spoken out when accused of taking the drug. With that in mind, we’re looking at celebrities who’ve denied and admitted to taking Ozempic.

Oprah Winfrey is shutting down rumors that she is in a feud with The Color Purple star Taraji P. Henson.

There have been prevailing rumors throughout the press tour for the film – for which Oprah acted as a producer – that the pair had some kind of tension between them.

Oprah told ET, “I would just like to say about this whole Taraji thing … I heard I was trending yesterday. People are saying that I was not supporting Taraji. Taraji will tell you herself that I’ve been the greatest champion of this film. Championing not only the behind the scenes projection but also everything that everybody needed. So whenever I heard that there was something that someone needed, I’m not in charge of the budget because that’s Warner Brothers you know that’s the way the studio system works.”

Fantasia Barrino and Oprah Winfrey wear shades of purple at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 39-year-old singer/actress and the 69-year-old producer were among those in attendance, representing their movie The Color Purple, which picked a few nominations for the ceremony.

Also stepping out were Fantasia‘s co-stars Danielle Brooks and Colman Domingo, who are also both nominees, as well as producer Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw.

Fantasia is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role as Celie, while Danielle is up for Best Supporting Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Sofia, the same award Oprah was nominated for for the same role in the 1985 version of The Color Purple.

In addition, while Colman was not nominated for his Color Purple role, he was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his work in the film Rustin.

Oprah Winfrey was part of the original 1985 film cast of The Color Purple, but decided not to make a cameo in the 2023 version in theaters now. If you don’t know, Oprah portrayed the role of Sofia in 1985 and was Oscar nominated for her role. She acted as a producer this go around.

The topic came about because there is a surprise cameo by another star in the film!
