Oprah Winfrey: Leadership Academy Graduation!

Oprah Winfrey attends the inaugural graduation at her Leadership Academy for Girls on Saturday (January 14) at Henley on Klip, South Africa.

“I’m one proud momma today,” the 57-year-old entrepreneur told the class of 2011, while also praising the teachers, administrators, social workers, psychologists, and family members who had helped the girls reach the milestone.

“I always held the vision that this day was possible,” Oprah added, the Associated Press reports.

The talk show host invested a reported $40 million to build the school for underprivileged South African girls, which opened in January 2007.

Oprah Winfrey: Returning to Television!

Oprah Winfrey is making her return to network television, just months after saying goodbye to her talk show after twenty-five years on the air, according to Reuters.

The 57-year-old television personality’s next small screen venture will involve her leaving the studio and visiting celebs at their homes.

“After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever – moving around the country and the world talking to people I’m really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too,” Oprah said in a statement.

For her first episode, debuting January 1 on OWN, Oprah will interview Stephen Tyler at his New Hampshire home, where the two will discuss drugs, love, and fame.

Forbes has unveiled this year’s list of the world’s 100 Most Powerful Women!

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany takes the top spot followed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who came in second.

First Lady Michelle Obama ranked in at #8, Lady Gaga at #11, and Oprah Winfrey at #14.

Other celebs making the list, which was filled with politicians and CEOs: Beyonce (#18), Angelina Jolie (#29), Ellen DeGeneres (#55), and Gisele Bundchen (#60)!

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling came in at #61, while Vogue editor Anna Wintour was listed in the 69th spot.

Oprah Winfrey: Book of Mormon!

Oprah Winfrey is all smiles as she leaves a performance of The Book of Mormon on Saturday (July 16) in New York City.

The 57-year-old former television host left the theater with an autographed Playbill!

Earlier in the week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Oprah will become the chief executive and chief creative officer of OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network beginning in the fall. She was previously chairman at the new network.

Oprah: Final Episode Airs

Oprah Winfrey signed off from her talk show today (May 25) after 25 years on the air.

“Gratitude is the single greatest treasure I will take with me from this experience,” Oprah, 57, shared. “The opportunity to have done this work, to be embraced by all of you who have watched, is one of the greatest honors any human being could have.”

“I won’t say goodbye,” Oprah added, “I’ll just say, ‘Until we meet again…’”
