TikTok's US Operations Acquired By Software Company Oracle

It’s official, Oracle has won the bid to take over TikTok‘s US operations.

The Wall Street Journal reports (via Deadline) that the software company beat out Microsoft with the winning bid.

The report adds that Oracle will be announced as the app’s “trusted tech partner”, but it’s not classified as a “sale”.

The site also notes that Oracle might have been the favored company to acquire the app, due to its founder, Larry Ellison, being a strong supporter of President Donald Trump.

Microsoft was favored to acquire the app, however, they were notified by parent company ByteDance that they had lost their bid in the deal.

It remains to be seen if TikTok is still planning to sue the Trump Administration over his executive order.
