Ben Stiller's Star-Studded Prison Break Series is Headed to TV

Ben Stiller‘s new series Escape at Dannemora has been given the green light at Showtime!

The 51-year-old Zoolander actor will direct and executive produce the eight-episode drama, which is based on the real-life maximum-security prison break in New York that occurred in the summer of 2015.

The escape led to a “massive manhunt for two convicted murderers who were aided in their escape by a married female prison employee with whom they both became sexually entangled,” according to Variety.

It will star Benicio del Toro, Patricia Arquette, and Paul Dano.

“We are all very intent on trying to tell this singular story in a way that shows the reality and humanity of the people involved,” Ben said. “While the genre is a prison escape story, at its core it is a story about real people, some criminals and some not, who make some bad choices that have huge consequences. I think that’s what’s so compelling about this.”

Escape at Dannemora will begin production later this year at the actual locations in Upstate New York.

ICYMI, Ben and his wife Christine Taylor recently ended their marriage after 17 years together.

Laura Dern & Naomi Watts Do a David Lynch-Themed Photo Shoot

Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Patricia Arquette, Chrysta Bell and Hailey Gates pose for a David Lynch-themed photo shoot for W magazine. All the actresses have worked with the famed director in the past.

Here’s what they shared with the mag:

Naomi, on David not believing in traditional auditions: “David will look at three or four, or maybe five, different pictures and say, ‘Okay, I’ll see those girls.’ If you’re the third person on the list and he’s had a great meeting, he doesn’t meet girl number four or five. So my getting the part felt like fate.”

Laura, on getting cast and then finding out what part you’ll play: “I’m always excited and surprised by what he asks me to play. Even in the beginning, I signed on because of David. He inspires that trust.”

Naomi, on sex scenes: “The sex in his films is emotional. It is not gratuitous. You feel that he is getting at something primal.”

Celebs React to United Airlines Not Allowing Leggings

United Airlines is getting a ton of backlash after allegedly not allowing two girls to fly because they were wearing leggings.

Passenger Shannon Watts tweeted about the incident, saying that the young passengers – one of whom was reportedly 10 years old – were forced to change before boarding a flight from Denver to Minneapolis.

“A @united gate agent isn’t letting girls in leggings get on flight from Denver to Minneapolis because spandex is not allowed?” she tweeted. “She’s forcing them to change or put dresses on over leggings or they can’t board. Since when does @united police women’s clothing?”

The airline later tweeted, “The passengers this morning were United pass riders who were not in compliance with our dress code policy for company benefit travel.”

Meanwhile, celebs like Chrissy Teigen and Patricia Arquette made their opinions on the matter known.

“I have flown united before with literally no pants on. Just a top as a dress. Next time I will wear only jeans and a scarf,” Chrissy tweeted.

Patricia wrote, “The highest standard of any culture corporate or not is to allow children to be children and to dress in accordance.”

She later added, “Turns out United bans leggings, torn jeans, and shorter shorts for free employee pass tickets. Still @united should update policy.”

William Shatner wrote, “😱👇🏻I’m going to start wearing leggings! Is that against the rules? 🤔#outdatedfashion #outdatedrules”

Patricia Arquette Speaks Out After Sister Alexis Left Out of Oscars In Memoriam

Patricia Arquette was not pleased that her sister Alexis was left out of the Oscars In Memoriam segment.

The Oscar-winning actress explained that she thought the snub was a slight to the transgender community.

Alexis was a great actor, and had 70 credits, and was really brave to live her truth as a trans woman, and they didn’t include her in the memorial,” Patricia told ET.

She added,”I think that was a real slight to the trans community, especially at this time, when trans kids can’t even go to the bathroom in the United States of America at school. It says a lot about the lack of inclusion…Trans kids can really never look at anyone and see their heroes, and I think that was a big mistake.”

Patricia concluded, “The reality is, trans people are ignored all the time in our culture and our community. They have their civil rights taken away. They’re a very disrespected community.”
