Bethenny Frankel is opening up about her engagement for the first time!
In a new interview with People, the 50-year-old RHONY alum dished on her relationship with fiance Paul Bernon, revealing that they met on a “dating app.”
“I was pretty lucky when I walked in and saw him,” Bethenny said of their first date. “He had a twinkle. He came as advertised — better than advertised. He overshot the mark.”
It was announced last month that Bethenny and the 43-year-old businessman and producer were engaged after nearly three years of dating.
Also in the interview, Bethenny revealed how Paul popped the question.
“It was intimate,” Bethenny shared. “Just the two of us, on an island off of Florida. No makeup, no manicure, no ring photos. It was very simple and beautiful.”
During a recent appearance on on Live! with Kelly & Ryan, Bethenny said that she and Paul are in no rush to get married.
“We had a [wedding] date but then it felt rushed and this was all we were talking about,” Bethenny said. “I feel like I’ve done it wrong so many times…We didn’t want to jump right into the planning mode. It also feels awkward at my age to be worried about the dress and the whole pomp and circumstance.”
Bethenny also said that because of COVID, she feels “weird” about getting married right now.
“Let’s enjoy each other and the moment and force it into what it’s supposed to be,” Bethenny added.

The couple had sparked engagement rumors this past week after she was spotted with a ring that appeared to be an engagement ring. People has confirmed the news.
In addition, Bethenny has even more news. Her divorce from Jason Hoppy has finally be finalized. The pair wed in 2010 and split in 2012. They reached a financial settlement in 2016 but things remained contentious over the custody of their now 10-year-old daughter Bryn.
Page Six confirmed that the divorce was finalized on January 20, 2021.

Just a few weeks ago, Bethenny made a public apology to one celebrity who has been making headlines a ton lately.
