Katie Holmes hits the red carpet with co-stars Kevin Kline and Paul Dano at the premiere of their new comedy, The Extra Man, at NYC’s Village East Cinema on Monday (July 19).

The 31-year-old actress paired her cute striped Celine dress with Roger Vivier shoes.

In the movie, “meat-eating” Louis Ives (Dano) has a crush on his co-worker, dogmatic vegan Mary Powell (Holmes).

Katie flew into town via helicopter just this afternoon! (She’s been in Toronto shooting The Kennedys.)

Little Miss Sunshine will hit the stage as a musical next February!

The dark comedy and 2006 Sundance favorite will be adapted by William Finn and three-time Tony Award winner James Lapine at the La Jolla Playhouse starting next year (via EW).

Abigail Breslin earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Olive Hoover, a beauty queen wannabe with a big heart and a very dysfunctional family.

Avril Lavigne is one of “25″ 25-year-old cover stars celebrating Paper Magazine‘s 25th Anniversary.

The princess of girl-power pop-punk says her fourth record “is about feelings. [My husband Deryck Whibley] added so much. He’s already a performer. So instead of your typical pop producer, he is an actual musician.”

“Everything I do has always been about my music,” Avril adds. “Now, for the first time, I’m branching out. I work n the clothing line every day – it never ends, but its fun work. Designing is an ongoing process. And it’s all I wear. I don’t shop anymore. Costars Katie Holmes and Paul Dano film their upcoming comedy, The Extra Man in New York City on Wednesday (February 25).

Mass transit riders, be on the lookout! If you ride the M42 bus, you might see Katie and Paul reading through their lines!

Katie finished her run in the Broadway play All My Sons last month and began filming The Extra Man earlier this month.
