Celine Dion‘s team is firing back at a story that was published this week about her backup dancer and close friend Pepe Muñoz and the alleged influence he has.

“Dear Pepe, As the real members of Celine’s ‘inner circle,’ we are saddened and disappointed by an untruthful story that surfaced in the media on Monday, quoting multiple sources who claim they are part of the inner circle and that you have too much influence over Celine, and that you are isolating her,” the statement read. “These ‘sources’ have nothing better to do than to spread untrue gossip,” the statement continued. “Don’t let it get you down… and keep up the great work. We love you!”

The note was then signed by Celine‘s actual inner circle, “Dave, Dee, Denis, Lina, Michel, Naomi, Suzanne, Sydney, Sylvie, Yves oxoxo.”

This note seems to be in response to the Page Six article posted, which has one source saying, “Pepe is like her boy toy who is really trying to take over. He’s isolating her and people are feeling it. She’s in love with this guy and listens to everything he’s saying. People go to him when they have questions. He’s fully taken over. The only people around her now [are] Pepe, the hairdresser and the stylist.”

Celine Dion recently had to shoot down the rumors that she’s romantically involved with Pepe Munoz by saying this.

Celine Dion is still dealing with rumors about her dating life and people are still asking about her relationship with BFF Pepe Munoz.

The 51-year-old singer has been seen spending a lot of time with Pepe over the past couple years as he has been a support system for Celine after the death of her husband Rene Angelil.

Celine says that rumors about them being a couple make her laugh.

“At first, I felt for him quite a bit… Pepe is gay, and at first I think some people did not know that,” she told Extra.

“The thing is that he’s my best friend and we dance together and he did so much for me and even just holding my hand… it’s something that I haven’t had for a long time… A hug from a 6′ 3″ man, it was wonderful… and people really thought there was a romance going on,” she added. “He did so much for me, for my mental health, my spirituality, my strength… my inner strength.”

Celine Dion is addressing the rumors that she’s dating backup dancer Pepe Munoz, who she’s been seen out with frequently over the last two years.

“I am single. The press said, ‘Oh my God, René just passed and now there’s another man.’ Yeah, there’s another man in my life but not the man in my life,” Celine said on ITV’s Lorraine show (via People). “When I say I am single, please leave me alone.”

“It was probably overwhelming for [Pepe] at the beginning when we started working together because we were dancing together,” Celine continued. “We bonded right away as friends, we had a good time. It evolved. But when people started to take pictures and it was like, ‘Who’s that guy? René?’…Let’s not mix everything,” she continued. “We’re friends, we’re best friends. Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he’s a gentleman. He’s giving me his hand to go out…I don’t mind [hearing the rumors] because he’s handsome and he’s my best friend.”

Celine‘s husband Rene Angelil passed away in January of 2016 at the age of 74.
