Peppa Pig‘s social media accounts have been teasing a big announcement this week and we’ve just learned that the news involved Katy Perry!

The 38-year-old singer and American Idol judge has joined the cast of the animated series to celebrate its upcoming 20th anniversary.

Katy will be voicing a new character and will appear as a guest star in an episode of the three-part Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special, which will premiere in spring 2024, according to Deadline.

Peppa Pig is cashing in!

Hasbro Inc. will pay $4 billion to buy the studio that makes the Peppa Pig and PJ Masks children shows, Entertainment One Ltd., according to Fortune on Friday (August 23).

This deal will mark the toy-maker’s largest-ever deal, and increases the possibility that a rival bid could still emerge. ITV P1c previously bid nearly $1.2 billion in 2016, but Entertainment One Ltd. reportedly refused to enter talks at the time.

This deal would allow Hasbro to have the company’s “scripted and unscripted TV production and development capabilities, which include animated and live action shows.”

“We see opportunities for emerging markets. It’s also heartening to see that eOne has gotten great traction in markets like China for Peppa,” said Hasbro exec Brian Goldner. Click here for more details about the deal.

Iggy Azalea is addressing her, err, beef Peppa Pig.

The 29-year-old “F–k It Up” rapper and the animated cartoon hilariously traded words on Twitter in the lead-up to their album releases on Friday (July 19), and Iggy addressed their relationship in an interview with E! News.

“She hasn’t said anything to me since, but I’m beating her on the chart today, surprisingly,” Iggy revealed.

“I really was scared though because Peppa Pig is so popular with kids. When I saw that Peppa Pig was releasing an album, I was like, ‘Well that’s it. I’m out of the race. I’m beat before I even started.”

Iggy Azalea has a dream collaborator in mind – and it’s probably not who you think.

The 29-year-old “Started” rapper hilariously posted a response to Peppa Pig‘s album announcement on Tuesday (July 16).

“My First Album is available to stream this Friday! 🎤 Are your little ones excited? You can already listen to Bing Bong Zoo NOW!” Peppa Pig tweeted.

“It’s over for me now,” Iggy wrote. Her album, In My Defense, is out on the same day on Friday (July 19).

“Peppa’s so fancy, you already know 🐷,” Peppa wrote back.

“Collab with me now or you’ll end up a breakfast special peppa,” Iggy wrote in response.
