Sadie Robertson is speaking out in response to the news that her grandfather Phil Robertson has an adult daughter from an affair he had in the 1970s.

The 74-year-old Duck Dynasty star shared the news on his podcast this week during a conversation with his sons.

Phil‘s long lost daughter, a 45-year-old woman named Phyliss, contacted his sons and explained her story. They did a DNA test and it ended up being a “99.99 percent match.”

“We know that in all things — in all things, even sin — God works for the good of those who love him who have been called according to his purpose,” Phil said while quoting a bible verse. “It’s a pretty cool explanation of redemption, reconciliation, love. As it turns out, 45 years, you have a daughter that you don’t know about and she has a father she doesn’t know about. Forty-five years, that doesn’t sound like very long but … that’s a while. So finally, after all those years, we’ve come together.”

Sadie responded to the story on Instagram by saying, “The bigger the better,” referring to her growing family.

Sadie got married last November and shared a photo from the special day.

Phil Robertson‘s suspension from his hit series Duck Dynasty has been lifted and A&E has announced that the temporary ban from the show will have no effect on the upcoming fifth season.

“As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect,” the network said in a statement (via THR). “We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.”

“That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil‘s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’ We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold,” the statement continued.

The Robertson Family has just released a statement saying that they refuse to film their hit reality show Duck Dynasty without patriarch Phil Robertson, who was suspended by A&E over anti-gay comments he made to GQ.

“As a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty,” the family said. Read the full statement inside the post.

A&E announced the suspension on Wednesday night and said “we are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson‘s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty.”

The suspension has elicited a debate all across the country about first amendment rights and whether Phil should have been suspended for voicing his own opinion.
