Helen Mirren on Alan Rickman in 'Eye in the Sky': 'He Would Be Very Proud'

Helen Mirren premieres her new film Eye In The Sky on Sunday (April 11) in London, England.

The 70-year-old actress was joined on the red carpet by actors Colin Firth and Phoebe Fox.

Eye in the Sky also stars the late Alan Rickman.

On The Graham Norton Show, Helen said, “I think it’s a movie he would be very proud of in the sense that he would appreciate what the film was about and the way it tells its story. It doesn’t take sides, it makes no moral decisions. It just throws out moral questions.”

“What I love about the film is it’s Alan as I knew Alan. I mean he was a brilliant character actor – we see him in Harry Potter and Die Hard playing these extraordinary characters. That is Alan [in Eye in the Sky] as he really is: funny, urbane, intelligent, very human. So, it’s really great to see him up there,” Helen added.

Russell Tovey Makes His Singing Debut in ‘View from the Bridge’

Russell Tovey poses on the carpet while attending the opening night after party for the new Broadway production of A View From the Bridge on Thursday (November 12) at Guastavino’s restaurant in New York City.

The 33-year-old British actor, who is best known for his role on HBO’s Looking, was joined by his co-stars Mark Strong, Phoebe Fox, Nicola Walker, and more.

Russell revealed to Billboard that he makes his singing debut in the play.

“I’ve never been paid to sing. I’ve sung on a karaoke stage. A lot. But have I sung where someone’s been giving me a wage? No,” Russell said. “Well, actually, we sang a tiny bit in The History Boys, didn’t we? We had kind of like, ‘Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye’ songs, with a little bit of a routine. But this is… I mean, ['Paper Doll'] is only like five lines, and then my character gets cut off. But, it’s a nice five lines, and it kind of comes out of nowhere. So, yeah, it’s been fun.”

Check out Phoebe Fox being grabbed by an unexpected hand in a clip from her upcoming horror film The Woman in Black 2 Angel of Death, exclusively given to JustJared.com!

The movie, which is a sequel to Daniel Radcliffe‘s film The Woman in Black, also stars Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCrory.

Here’s the synopsis: When a group of orphaned children are forced to move from their home in London, caretakers Eve (Fox) and Jean (McCrory) bring everyone to the desolate and eerie British countryside. 40 years after Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe) left, this supernatural horror film introduces this new group to the now abandoned Eel Marsh House; an odd but seemingly safe location. It isn’t long before Eve starts to sense that this house is not what it appears to be as the children in her care begin to disappear. As their house of safety becomes a house of horrors, Eve enlists the help of a handsome pilot (Irvine) to help investigate what is happening. Eve soon discovers that it may not be a coincidence that she has come to reside in the house inhabited by the Woman in Black.”

Mark your calendars, the Tom Harper-directed movie hits theaters one month from today on January 2!
