That same weekend, Alexander‘s new flick The Legend of Tarzan hit theaters.

The action-packed movie came in second place and earned $38.1 million in its opening weekend.

The gala is in support of the art exhibit Vogue 100: A Century of Style, which displays one hundred years of British Vogue commissioned works. It is currently housed at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
