Dan Stevens Will Voice Both Prince Charles & His Dad Prince Philip In HBO Max's 'The Prince'

Dan Stevens is pulling double duty for HBO Max’s upcoming animated comedy series, The Prince.

The former Downton Abbey and Beauty and the Beast actor has signed on to voice both Prince Charles, and Prince Philip, in the new satirical show.

The show is described as a “satirical look at the life of Prince George of Cambridge, the youngest heir to the British throne, as he navigates the trials and tribulations of being a royal child.”

“Before George rules Britannia, he’ll be laying down his own laws in Gary Janetti’s comedic take on the future King of England’s childhood as seen from the prince’s own point of view,” the official summary reads. “Because his succession isn’t coming any time soon, in each episode George will find his path in life as a young prince in modern times – from the 775 rooms of Buckingham Palace to his family’s sea of corgis to primary school with commoners.”

Creator Gary Janetti will voice Prince George, with Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Alan Cumming as George’s butler Owen, Frances De La Tour as Queen Elizabeth, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Condola Rashad at Meghan Markle, and Iwan Rheon as Prince William.

Here's How Prince Philip Will Be Celebrating His 99th Birthday

Prince Philip will be celebrating his 99th birthday this week and plans for how he will celebrate were just revealed.

The stalwart consort is actually planning a quiet lunch at Windsor Castle with the Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth II, who turned 94 in April.

AP reports that some of their family, including senior royals, might call in with birthday wishes, however, the palace isn’t saying anything more.

Philip has been sheltering in place with the Queen for more than two months, as the coronavirus pandemic shut down most of the country and cancelled many royal events that were planned.

Late last year, Philip spent a few days in the hospital as a precautionary measure. His eldest son, Prince Charles, gave an update about his father’s condition.

If you missed it, you can watch Queen Elizabeth‘s message that she shared with the English nation for her birthday.
