Quentin Tarantino's 'Star Trek' Film Might Not Happen Anymore

Quentin Tarantino is re-thinking his Star Trek movie plans.

The 56-year-old filmmaker revealed he might be stepping away from directing the R-rated version of Star Trek.

Quentin teamed up with J.J. Abrams while working on the project idea, which Quentin has been attached to since 2017.

“I might be steering away from it, but we’ll see,” Quentin told Deadline. “I haven’t completely decided, or talked to anyone involved. Nothing is official.”

“I think I’m steering away from Star Trek, but I haven’t had an official conversation with those guys yet,” Quentin also told Consequence of Sound.

Quentin has always talked about making 10 movies before retiring.

“In a strange way, it seems like this movie, Hollywood, would be my last,” Quentin Tarantino added about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. “So, I’ve kind of taken the pressure off myself to make that last big voilà kind of statement. I mean to such a degree there was a moment when I was writing and went, ‘Should I do this now? Should I do something else? Is this the 10th one?’ No, no, don’t stop the planets from aligning, what are you, Galactus? If the Earth is saying do it, do it.”

Quentin Tarantino Says 'Kill Bill Vol. 3' Is 'Definitely in the Cards'!

There’s still hope for Kill Bill fans!

While stopping by the SiriusXM studios to promote the soundtrack of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood on Andy Cohen Live on Monday (December 9), filmmaker Quentin Tarantino confirmed a third installment in the Uma Thurman-led franchise is “definitely in the cards.”

“I just had dinner with Uma Thurman last night,” Quentin told Andy Cohen. “We were at a really cool Japanese restaurant. I do have an idea of what I would do with ['Kill Bill Vol. 3']. That was the whole thing, conquering the concept. What has happened to The Bride since then? And what do I want to do?”

“I didn’t just want to come up with some cockamamie adventure. [The character] doesn’t deserve that,” Quentin continued. “The Bride has fought long and hard. I have an idea now that could be interesting. I still wouldn’t do it for a little bit. It would be at least three years from now. It is definitely in the cards.”

That same evening, Quentin Tarantino stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers where he talked about Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the real people who inspired Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio‘s characters in the movie and his 2020 Golden Globes nominations.
