R. Kelly‘s mug shot has been released.

The 52-year-old disgraced singer was placed under arrest on Friday night (February 22) after he turned himself in to police in Chicago, Ill.

R. Kelly was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims. He remains in police custody while waiting to appear in court for a bail hearing on Saturday (February 23).

Two women testified for a grand jury over the last week, including one who provided physical evidence. At least a dozen women reportedly came forward to testify. An alleged sex tape was also presented, which “was a pivotal force leading to the charges.”

The charges are considered a Class 2 felony and each charge carries a maximum sentence of three to seven years in prison.

R. Kelly has turned himself in to police.

The 52-year-old musician was arrested at 8:15 PM on Friday evening (February 22) at a police station in Chicago, Ill.

The arrest comes hours after R. Kelly was charged with ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and a judge issued a no-bail warrant for R. Kelly‘s arrest.

“He is extraordinarily disappointed and depressed. He is shell-shocked by this,” his attorney Steve Greenberg told the Associated Press.

According to the report, the victims involved ranged in age from 13 to 16 years old. One of the victims is the subject of four different counts. There are four victims in total.

The charges are considered a Class 2 felony and each charge carries a maximum sentence of three to seven years in prison.

Erykah Badu is sharing her thoughts about R. Kelly, who recently parted ways with his label Sony Records following the airing of Lifetime’s docu-series Surviving R. Kelly, which documented allegations of sexual assault against the singer.

The 47-year-old artist opened up to the crowd during her concert at Aragon Ballroom on Saturday night (January 19) in Chicago, Ill.

“I don’t know how everybody else feel about it…I’m putting up a prayer right now for R…I hope he sees the light of day,” she explained as the crowd began boo.

“What y’all say? F–k him? That’s not love. That’s not unconditional. What if one of the people that was assaulted by R. Kelly grows up to be an offender? We gonna crucify them? How we gon’ do this? Just something to think about…they about to R. Kelly me on the Internet,” she said.

“Everybody involved has been hurt.”

R. Kelly and Sony are parting ways.

The news comes as the 52-year-old artist finds himself once again in the headlines following the airing of Lifetime’s docu-series Surviving R. Kelly, which detailed allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against the star.

The artist and his label agreed to part ways, Billboard reported on Friday (January 18).

In addition to the #MuteRKelly protest online, other artists have already spoken out against the singer, including RCA Records act Jack Antonoff, who called for R. Kelly to be dropped from the label back in March of 2018.

R. Kelly was signed to Sony since the beginning of his career, and was under contract at RCA Records since 2012.
