Rian Johnson Responds to the Haters of 'The Last Jedi'

Rian Johnson is speaking out to respond to haters of his movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi, specifically those who criticized Luke’s Force projection near the end of the film.

The director wrote a thread of tweets in which he didn’t even use words to explain himself.

Rian started the thread with the eyeball emojis to let his followers know that he could see their critiques. He then shared a photo of his bookshelf with the book “The Jedi Path” on it.

Then, Rian opened up the book to the “Advanced Force Techniques” section and shared the definition of a “doppelganger,” as explained in the Star Wars endorsed book.

“Doppelganger permits a Jedi to create a short-lived duplicate of himself or herself or an external object that is visually indistinguishable from the real item. Those who have perfected this ability can create phantoms of any person of their choosing or trick an enemy into seeing more objects, such as droids, than are actually present,” the book explained.

Rian than faded into the distance with the help of a Homer Simpson GIF. He also had a conversation about Leia’s float in space moment!

“I was also very surprised. And yes, it’s an unexpected story so there was a lot to talk about – so I felt nervous, but luckily Rian explained everything and I thought ‘oh, OK’.”

'Last Jedi' Director Reveals 'I Have a Bad Feeling About This' Line is Indeed in the Movie!

Rian Johnson, the director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is revealing something that nearly every viewer likely missed while watching the new film this weekend!

Fans initially thought that this was the first Star Wars movie to not feature the iconic line, “I have a bad feeling this,” but it actually is in the movie.

20 EASTER EGGS: Here’s a recap of all the hidden moments in The Last Jedi

The droid BB-8 delivers the line early on in the film during the battle against the First Order. BB-8 says the line to Poe (Oscar Isaac), who replies, “Hey, happy beeps here, buddy, c’mon.”

“It seemed like a fun character to deliver that line,” Rian told Huffington Post. “I think originally I had Poe respond, ‘Oh, I got a good feeling about it. Keep your chin up.’ And then I made it a little less explicit just to make it more fun.”

You’ll have to go re-watch the movie to check out the moment, plus all these other Easter Eggs!

Adam Driver Wants To Be 'Surprised' By Future 'Star Wars' Episodes!

Mark Hamill and Adam Driver get together for a photograph while attending their press conference for Star Wars: The Last Jedi held at the Ritz Carlton Tokyo on Thursday (December 7) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 66-year-old actor and Adam, 34, were joined at the event by writer-director Rian Johnson, producer Kathleen Kennedy, C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8.

Adam, who’s best known for playing Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, recently revealed that he prefers not knowing about his character’s fate for Episode IX.

“I’ve learned in doing a TV show, the best way to go into something that kind of turns and like, it’s episodic, or keeps going on is to have no idea and then I’m always kind of pleasantly surprised,” Adam expressed. “For me that’s kind of one of the fun parts of your job is not kind of having… I have a general sense but as far as how things kind of get there, I know, I love being… and even the general sense, I’m open to being kind of. Surprised by it. It’s more fun for me to not know.”
