Richard Simmons has not been seen in public in years, and his brother, Lenny Simmons, is coming to his defense against rumors that have been circulating.

“My brother is fine,” Lenny, 70, told People of his 68-year-old brother. “He’s not sick. There’s nothing medically wrong with him at all. My wife Cathy and I were out there for Christmas and spent five days with him. “He’s not sick. There’s nothing medically wrong with him at all. These things about him transitioning to a woman are ridiculous. My wife Cathy and I were out there for Christmas and spent five days with him and I can assure you, he’s not transitioning into anything but himself.”

“After 40-some odd years, he just decided that he wants to rest. He’s 68 years old now and he’s in good health, but he just wants time for himself,” Lenny continued.

There has been public concern for Richard over the years after some of his friends have come forward to claim they haven’t haven’t been able to see him in years. A podcast, Missing Richard Simmons, has shed light on where he is, though his rep has slammed the recordings as ridiculous.

Richard Simmons‘ rep is slamming the podcast Missing Richard Simmons again after rumors keep surfacing about where his client is and why he’s been missing since February 2014.

“We did not cooperate, we did not collaborate, we did not approve, we have nothing to do with this podcast,” Richard‘s rep Tom Estey said to People.

A recent episode of Missing Richard Simmons contains an interview with Richard‘s friend and former massuse Mauro Oliveira, who said that Richard is being held hostage by his housekeeper Teresa Reveles.

“That is absolute, absolute madness. Absolutely not true. And you know what? It’s unfortunate that people have to lie to get ratings for a podcast,” Tom continued.

A rep for Richard Simmons is speaking out to deny the claims being made in the popular new podcast, Missing Richard Simmons.

In the recently released third episode, host Dan Taberski talks with one of Richard‘s fellow former friends Mauro Oliveira about his disappearance from the public eye. The former weight loss guru has not been seen in public since February 2014.

Mauro claims that Richard is being held hostage in his home by housekeeper Theresa Reveles and he talks about the last time he visited his friend at his house in May 2014.

“She realized that I was in the house, she started screaming like a witch, ‘No no no no, get out, get out! I don’t want him here!’ Richard looked at me and said, ‘You got to go.’ I said, ‘Really? Is she controlling your life now?’ and he said yes. And that I have to leave,” Mauro said.

Richard Simmons is speaking out in a statement to deny rumors that he is transitioning to a woman.

Reports have been surfacing after the 67-year-old former fitness guru was hospitalized recently for dehydration.

“Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning. In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies,” Richard wrote in a statement on Facebook. “Although I am not transitioning, I have and always will be supportive of those who are going through their journey. We should not lose focus on showing love, strength and compassion to all of the LGBT community during these tragic times. My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.”

Richard Simmons‘ rep is debunking rumors that he is transitioning from male to female, despite rumors that have been running rampant since his mysterious hospitalization last week.

The National Enquirer reported that Richard was undergoing surgery to become a woman, but his rep said, “The story is a complete fabrication and not true,” (via THR).

Richard has not made any public appearances in years, and his sudden absence from the limelight has been a cause for speculation.

We’re hoping Richard feels all better after his hospitalization and that he’s doing well.
