Instagram Notifies You When Someone Screenshots a Disappearing Photo!

Here’s something you might want to read before opening your Instagram app again… your friends will be notified if you take a screenshot of their disappearing photos!

Just like Snapchat, the social media app now lets users privately send photos to friends that disappear just a matter of seconds after being opened. Also like the other app, Instagram will let you know if someone screenshot the photo, so consider yourself warned before doing just that.

Notifications will show up in your phone’s notification center and there will also be a notification within the bubbles on your Instagram inbox.

Kendall Jenner Returns to Instagram After One Week Off

Kendall Jenner‘s break from Instagram didn’t last long.

The 21-year-old model is already back on the photo-sharing website, just a week after deleting her account.

She told Ellen at the time, “I just wanted to detox. I just wanted a little bit of a break. I’m always on it. I would wake up in the morning and look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it…I’ll be back.”

Kendall made her triumphant return with three new photos, captioning them “shy boy by me,” “happy by me,” and “return of the mack by me.”

Fans noticed when they went to her page it read, “Sorry, this page isn’t available.”

It’s possible that there may have just been a glitch in the system, or Kendall decided to walk away for a while.

“I want my Instagram to look good,” Kendall recently told Allure about her account. “You go through people’s pages and it’s all, like, selfies or their butts. I love a good belfie—don’t get me wrong. I post those every once in a while.”

Daisy Ridley Quits Instagram After Backlash for Anti-Gun Post

Daisy Ridley has deleted her Instagram account.

The 24-year-old Star Wars actress received some backlash from users over an anti-gun violence post she shared earlier in the week.

“Thinking about how lucky I am like……… Serious bit: as I sat in the audience yesterday [Teen Choice Awards] tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence,” Daisy wrote (via EW). “I didn’t get a great picture of the incredible group that came onstage but they were so brave. It was a true moment of togetherness. We must ‪#‎stoptheviolence‬.”

Daisy also posted the message on Facebook and has since deleted it as well.

Instagram Launches Stories, CEO Gives Credit to Snapchat

Instagram has announced a brand new feature – Instagram Stories!

The feature works a lot like Snapchat and allows you to share moments to your profile and have them disappear after 24 hours. There will be a bar at the top of your news feed showing you all the stories from people you follow. You are able to send a private comment on a story to your friend, but there are no public comments or likes for stories.

Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom is giving credit to Snapchat for the new feature.

“They deserve all the credit,” Kevin told TechCrunch. “When you are an innovator, that’s awesome. Just like Instagram deserves all the credit for bringing filters to the forefront. This isn’t about who invented something. This is about a format, and how you take it to a network and put your own spin on it. Facebook invented feed, LinkedIn took on feed, Twitter took on feed, Instagram took on feed, and they all feel very different now and they serve very different purposes. But no one looks down at someone for adopting something that is so obviously great for presenting a certain type of information.”

“And I think what you see is that every company looks around and adopts the best of the best formats or state-of-the-art technology. Snapchat adopted face filters that existed elsewhere first, right? And slideshows existed in other places, too. Flipagram was doing it for a while. So I think that’s the interesting part of the Valley. You can’t just recreate another product. But you can say ‘what’s really awesome about a format? And does it apply to our network?’” Kevin added. “Don’t you think that Snapchat’s done a really awesome job? And Facebook’s done a great job. And Instagram’s done a great job. I think all of these companies have done a great job. Some people invent stuff. We’ve invented things.”

Celebs Share Inaccurate Meme About Instagram Timeline

As you may have heard in the last couple weeks, Instagram will soon be reordering your timeline to present content in order of how it thinks you will find posts interesting, rather than place everything in a chronological order as before.

A meme has started to go viral on the social media app telling users to “turn on notifications” so that they can still see posts that a user puts up.

The meme is inaccurate as all posts will still be there for you to see, they’ll just be in a different order, according to BuzzFeed. If you turn on notifications for every person you follow, you’ll get a push notification to your phone every time someone posts, but it won’t make your timeline change to chronological order. So prepare for your phone to start blowing up with notifications if you follow suit!

Lots of celebs have joined the movement to tell their fans to turn on notifications, including Ellie Goulding, January Jones, Ashley Tisdale, Cameron Dallas, Jaime King, and many more. See their posts below.
