The award-winning actor Rip Torn has died at the age of 88.

A rep for the actor confirms to JustJared.com that he “passed away peacefully this afternoon (Tuesday) at his home in Lakeville, Connecticut, at the age of 88 with his wife Amy Wright, and daughters Katie Torn and Angelica Page by his side.”

Rip won an Emmy for his portrayal of the deliciously devious producer Artie on HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show. He is also known for his work on the Great White Way. Rip is a Tony-nominated actor who has appeared on Broadway ten times.
