Chuck Barris Dead - 'The Gong Show' Host Passes Away at 87

Chuck Barris – famed game show host and creator – has sadly passed away at 87-years-old.

Chuck is best known for hosting the popular 1970s game show The Gong Show, before creating game show classics The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game.

Before getting into the game show business, Chuck also wrote the 1962 pop song “Palisades Park” – a tribute to New Jersey’s amusement park.

In 1984, Chuck wrote his autobiography Confessions of a Dangerous Mind – which would go on to be George Clooney‘s film directorial debut in 2002.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 16 years Mary Rudolph.

Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez Mourns Sudden Death of Father Roy

Rico Rodriguez, well known for his work as Manny on Modern Family, has announced that his father Roy Rodriguez, 52, died suddenly last week.

“This has been the toughest week of my life. My Dad was the most kind hearted, loving, hard working, determined, and funny man I have ever known,” the 18-year-old actor wrote on Instagram. :He was like a super hero, he had the ability to get the best out of you day in and day out. I’m gonna miss your hugs. I’m gonna miss your advice. I’m gonna miss your smile, and I’m gonna miss your laugh. I know you’re looking down at us right now giving us the green light to move forward. I miss you Daddy. I’ll love you forever – Your youngest”

Rico‘s sister, actress Raini Rodriguez, also took to Instagram to mourn her father.

“You have officially been gone one week daddy and while it has been really difficult, we are all still standing tall and I know it’s because you are sending us strength and guidance all the way from heaven. My daddy was the greatest man in my life. His work ethic and sense of humor were two of his greatest characteristics, both of which he shared with me. He has taught me so many life lessons and inspired me constantly to follow my dreams. I know you will continue to shine down on me, momma, Rico, Ray, Poppi and baby and we will be ok! I promise to make you proud daddy. I will love and miss you forever. – Your one and only baby girl,” Raini wrote.

Roy is survived by his wife Diane, children Rico, Raini, Ray and Roy Jr., as well as 10 grandchildren. Our thoughts are with Rico, Raini, and Roy‘s entire family.

Chuck Berry Dead - Legendary Musician Dies at 90

Chuck Berry, who helped pave the way for rock ‘n’ roll, has sadly passed away at the age of 90.

The legendary musician was found unresponsive in his home at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Saturday (March 18), the St. Charles County Police Department confirmed.

Chuck was known for his hit songs like “Johnnie B. Goode,” “You Never Can Tell,” and “No Particular Place To Go.”

The full statement from the police department reads: “St. Charles County police responded to a medical emergency on Buckner Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. today (Saturday, March 18). Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques. Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1:26 p.m. The family requests privacy during this time of bereavement.”

No further details have yet been revealed.

Chuck is survived by his wife Themetta “Toddy” Suggs and his children Ingrid, Aloha, Charles Jr., and Melody.

James Cotton Dead - Blues Harmonica Legend Passes Away at 81

James Cotton, one of the most well-known blues harmonica players of all time, has sadly died at the age of 81.

The Grammy Award-winning musician passed away on Thursday (March 16) due to pneumonia while being treated at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, according to a statement from James‘ label, Alligator Records.

James was born on a Mississippi cotton plantation and started playing the harmonica at age nine.

He was later mentored by Sonny Boy Williamson II and toured with Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters before forming The James Cotton Band in 1966, collaborating with Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, and more.

James is survived by his wife Jacklyn Hairston, daughters Teresa Hampton and Marshall Ann, son James Patrick, and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joni Sledge Dead - 'We Are Family' Singer Passes Away at 60

Singer Joni Sledge from the sister musical group Sister Sledge has passed away at 60-years-old, her publicist told CNN.

As of now, the cause of her Joni‘s death is unknown.

“Yesterday, numbness fell upon our family. We are saddened to inform you that our dear sister, mother, aunt, niece and cousin, Joni passed away yesterday. Please pray for us as we weep for this loss. We do know that she is now eternally with Our Lord,” the group posted on their Facebook page.

Joni and Sister Sledge are best known for their 1979 hit song “We Are Family.”

Robert Osborne Dead - TCM Host & Film Historian Passes Away at 84

Film historian Robert Osborne, who was well known as the host of Turner Classic Movies’ host since 1994, has passed away at the age of 84.

“All of us at Turner Classic Movies are deeply saddened by the death of Robert Osborne,” TCM said in a statement after news broke of his death (via Variety). In the past, Robert wrote for THR, was the official greeter on the red carpet for the Academy Awards from 2006-10, and even did some acting work over the years.

A cause of death has not yet been released.

Mel B Announces Her Father Has Died After Five Year Battle with Cancer

Mel B is mourning the loss of her father.

The 41-year-old America’s Got Talent judge announced on Instagram early Sunday morning (March 5) that her father Martin Brown has passed away after a five year battle with cancer. He was 63.

“It is with great sadness after a 5yr battle to multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday. Both of us his children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma’s and all the doctors and nurses for there amazing care and support over the years. Please respect our privacy and let us as a united family grieve with love and respect. Melanie and Danielle Brown x Be Free Dad,” Mel captioned the below pic.

TMZ has also announced that filming of America’s Got Talent has been cancelled for the upcoming week as she mourns her father’s death.
