Park Won-Soon Dead - Mayor of Seoul Found Dead After Going Missing at 64

Park Won-Soon has died.

The 64-year-old mayor of Seoul was found dead on a mountainside within the city, CNN confirmed Thursday (July 9).

His body was found on Bukak mountain in the Seongbuk-gu neighborhood, which is close to his official residence in Jongno-gu.

The police have not yet revealed how he died due to privacy, but they “have not ruled out foul play.” There was no suicide note, and his belongings were reportedly found nearby.

He was first reported missing by his daughter on Thursday evening (July 8), leading to a search by hundreds of police officers and firefighters. His body was ultimately found by a rescue dog.

He had been Seoul’s mayor since 2011, and was considered a likely hopeful for the 2022 presidential elections.

Alex Pullin Dead - Australian Olympian Dies in Spearfishing Accident

Australian snowboarder Alex “Chumpy” Pullin has sadly died.

The Olympic winner died on Wednesday (July 8) while spearfishing off the Gold Coast in Australian, according to statement from Snow Australia, the country’s competitive ski and snowboarding organization. He was 32-years-old.

“Our deepest condolences are with Alex’s family, as well as his team mates and support staff,” the statement read. “Alex was a beloved member of the Snow Australia community and he will be dearly missed.”

Alex was found unconscious on the sea floor by another diver, Gold Coast Police District Duty Officer Chris Tritton shared with Australia’s 9 News.

“He didn’t have an oxygen mask, we understand he was free diving and spearfishing out on the reef,” Officer Tritton said. “It appears he was diving alone. There were other divers out there, but he was not with a friend.”

Alex was still unconscious when he was brought to the shore, where off-duty nurses, lifeguards, and paramedics performed CPR on him for 45 minutes, but could not resuscitate him.

Alex was an experienced diver as well as being a three-time Olympian and a two-time world champion snowboarder.

Mary Kay LeTourneau Dead - Controversial Ex-Teacher & Convicted Sex Offender Dies at 58

Mary Kay LeTourneau has died.

The former Washington teacher, who married her student named Vili Fualaau after beginning an illegal sexual relationship with him when he was just 13, died at the age of 58 of Stage 4 cancer, People confirmed on Tuesday night (July 7).

The exact nature of her cancer was not disclosed, but she was battling the disease for “several months,” according to sources.

She was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for child rape in connection with their illegal relationship. She also became pregnant with his children before he was 15, despite court orders prohibiting their reunion.

By the time she was released, he petitioned the court to allow them to see each other. She remained a registered sex offender in Washington state. The couple married in 2005, but split in 2017 after he filed for legal separation.

They stayed living together, but their separation became official late in 2019 and they started living apart.

Disney Star Sebastian Athie Dies at Age 24

Sebastian Athie has sadly died at the young age of 24.

The Disney Channel Latin America star’s passing was confirmed by the network in a tweet over the weekend.

“Rest in peace, Sebas. Your art and your smile stay forever,” it read. “We regret the departure of Sebastián Athié and we will always remember him for his talent, companionship, professionalism and above all, enormous heart. We accompany his family, friends and fans in his farewell.”

Sebastian starred as Lorenzo in O11CE, which centered on soccer player Gabo (played by Mariano González) who lands a scholarship from the prestigious Sports Academic Institute (IAD). Sebastian played one of his fellow players.

Co-star Daniel Panitio shared a tribute to Sebastian on Instagram.

“Noble souls do not die and your light will be eternal, passion, discipline and love, so I will remember you, my roomie, my friend, my brother,” he wrote. “God have your holy glory. I do not understand many times his plans, and for the first time I it makes you feel to lose a brother, life I owe you a lot, I will miss you.”

It’s unclear how or why Sebastian passed away this weekend. Police are reportedly currently investigating.

Country Singer Charlie Daniels Dies at 83

Charlie Daniels has sadly passed away.

The singer and Country Music Hall of Famer, has died at the age of 83, Variety reports.

The site reports that Charlie died on Monday, July 6th after a hemorrhagic stroke in Hermitage, Tenn.

Charlie is best known for his song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, which is a story about a fiddling contest. It climbed to No. 1 on the country chart and crossed over to No. 3 on the pop side in 1979, shifting 1 million copies.

He also received a Grammy Award for best country vocal performance for the song, which was featured on the Urban Cowboy soundtrack.

Charlie, who was a gifted musician with skills on fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.

He is survived by his wife Hazel and son Charlie Jr.

Nick Cordero Dead - Broadway Actor Dies at 41 After Long Battle with Coronavirus

Nick Cordero has sadly passed away after his battle with coronavirus.

Nick‘s wife Amanda Kloots announced on (July 5) that the Broadway actor had died after being the hospital for over three months as he battled the virus. He was 41-years-old.

“God has another angel in heaven now. My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth,” Amanda wrote on Instagram. “I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him.”

During his hospitalization, Amanda updated fans on his condition, revealing that during his battle he had been dealing with lung infections and had his leg amputated due to blood clotting issues. Nick had also lost a massive amount of weight due to muscle atrophy.

“Nick was such a bright light. He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help and especially talk,” Amanda continued. “He was an incredible actor and musician. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband. Elvis and I will miss him in everything we do, everyday.”

Nick and Amanda share a 1-year-old son, Elvis.

“To Nicks extraordinary doctor, Dr. David Ng, you were my positive doctor!” Amanda wrote. “There are not many doctors like you. Kind, smart, compassionate, assertive and always eager to listen to my crazy ideas or call yet another doctor for me for a second opinion. You’re a diamond in the rough.”

Amanda continued: “I cannot begin to thank everyone enough for the outpour of love , support and help we’ve received these last 95 days. You have no idea how much you lifted my spirits at 3pm everyday as the world sang Nicks song, Live Your Life. We sang it to him today, holding his hands. As I sang the last line to him, “they’ll give you hell but don’t you light them kill your light not without a fight. Live your life,” I smiled because he definitely put up a fight. I will love you forever and always my sweet man. ❤️”

Tyson Brummett Dead - Former MLB Player Dies at 35 in a Plane Crash

Tyson Brummett, a former pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, has tragically died at the age of 35.

Brummett died on Friday morning (July 3) during a small plane crash in Utah.

“A man and two of his sons were hiking when they saw the plane begin to turn, then spiral downward. The witness said the plane spiraled out of his view and moments later he heard the impact. He hiked up further to call 911,” authorities shared in a press release. “The witness then climbed down to the plane and verified that the occupants died on impact.”

E! Online reports that four people were on the plane and they all died on impact. Tyson was reportedly the pilot of the plane.

Tyson made one appearance as a pitcher for the Phillies and he spent the rest of his career in the minor league system.

“The Phillies organization sends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of former pitcher Tyson Brummett, along with three members of the Ruegner and Blackhurst families, who tragically passed away in a plane crash yesterday morning,” the Phillies said in a statement.
