Mary Ellen Mark has passed away at the age of 75.
“Mary Ellen touched so many people throughout the world. We all celebrate her fierce and passionate spirit,” a rep shared in a statement about the famed photographer, who died on Monday (May 25) in New York City.
During her career, Mary published 16 collections of her work and contributed her pics to Rolling Stone, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Life.
Mary had also worked as a still photographer on sets of a few films, such as Catch-22, Carnal Knowledge, Francis Ford Coppola‘s Apocalypse Now, and Baz Luhrmann‘s Australia.
Mary is survived by husband Martin Bell, who is a film director.
