'Good Times' Actor Ben Powers Dies at Age 64

Sad news – Longtime actor Ben Powers has passed away.

The 64-year-old Good Times star was remember by his on-screen wife Bern Nadette Stanis.

“My condolences goes out to the family of Ben Powers who passed a few days ago,” she wrote on Facebook. “He was a great actor and great friend who is gone too soon. He will be missed by many. Until next lifetime my friend.”

Ben was probably best known for his role as Keith Anderson on the ’70s sitcom, which ran for six seasons from 1974 to 1979.

Homaro Cantu Dead - Celebrity Chef Dies at 38 From Apparent Suicide

Celebrity chef Homaro Cantu has passed away at the age of 38 from an apparent suicide on Tuesday (April 14).

According to reports, the 38-year-old restauranteur, who had appeared on numerous Food Network shows, was found hanging in the building where he wanted to open a brewery in a local Chicago neighborhood. Chicago’s WGN-TV reports that the autopsy will be completed today (Wednesday, April 15).

Homaro is survived by his wife Katie McGowan and their two daughters.

Percy Sledge Dead - 'When a Man Loves a Woman' Singer Passes Away at 73 From Cancer

Percy Sledge has passed away early Tuesday morning (April 14) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 73 years old.

The singer was well known for his hit song “When a Man Loves a Woman,” which reached number one on the charts. Percy passed away after battling cancer, his agent confirmed to ABC News.

Percy had dozens of hits over the years including ‘Warm and Tender Love,’ ‘It Tears Me Up,’ ‘Out of Left Field’ and ‘Take Time to Know Her.’” He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005

Richard Dysart Dead - L.A. Law Star Dies at 86 From Cancer

Richard Dysart, known for his work on L.A. Law, has died at the age of 86, according to TMZ.

The actor lost his battle to cancer and passed away at his Santa Monica home on Sunday (April 5).

Richard played the role of the head of McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak law firm in L.A. Law, which was produced by Steven Bochco. He was recognized for his work on the show with four supporting actor nominations for the Emmys and won one in 1992.

Geoffrey Lewis Dead - Actor & Juliette Lewis' Dad Dies at 79

Geoffrey Lewis, an actor who has appeared in many films and was also the father of Juliette Lewis, has died at 79.

The actor passed away on Tuesday (April 7) in Woodland Hills, Calif. from natural causes, according to Variety.

Geoffrey made his mark with appearances in several of Clint Eastwood‘s westerns, including High Plains Drifter, Any Which Way You Can, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Every Which Way But Loose. He received a Golden Globe nomination for his work on the series Flo and he appeared on dozens of other programs.

James Best Dead - 'Dukes of Hazzard' Actor Passes Away at 88

Actor James Best, known for his work as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane in The Dukes of Hazzard, has passed away at the age of 88.

According to an obituary on his personal website, James died on Monday evening (April 6) at his home in Hickory, North Carolina, after a brief illness and complications from pneumonia.

“He was a fine actor, director and mentor, and an even better friend,” co-star Tom Wopat, who played Luke Duke on the show, said in a statement that was posted to his website.

Dr. Fredric Brandt Dead - Celeb Dermatologist Dies at 65

Dr. Fredric Brandt was found dead at age 65 on Sunday (April 5) at his mansion in Miami, Fla.

The dermatologist to the stars reportedly was battling depression after being “devastated” by comparisons to the plastic surgeon character played by Martin Short in the new Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Fredric‘s patients included Madonna, Kelly Ripa, and supermodel Stephanie Seymour. He has admitted to using himself to experiment with injections of fillers.

“I’ve been kind of a pioneer in pushing the limits to see how things work and what the look would be,” Fredric told the NYT (via Daily News). “Would I change anything I’ve done? I might not have used as much Botox, because you don’t want to look quite as frozen.”
