Whitney Houston‘s secret relationship with her former assistant Robyn Crawford is addressed in the movie I Wanna Dance With Somebody and now her longtime collaborator Clive Davis is confirming the affair did happen.

Robyn and Whitney met in 1980 when they were both counselors at a summer camp. They were reportedly 16 and 19, respectively, at the time. Robyn eventually began working for Whitney as her assistant and while there were always rumors that they were more than friends, they never confirmed anything.

It wasn’t until 2019 when Robyn published her book “A Song for You: My Life with Whitney Houston” that she confirmed their romantic relationship.

Clive is now confirming the relationship too and explaining why it needed to be included in the Whitney biopic.

Wendy Williams is addressing her sexuality after she believed a publication “insinuating that something romantical is happening between me and Robyn Crawford.”

If you don’t know, Wendy interviewed Robyn on her show earlier this month. Robyn confirmed that she had a romantic relationship with her late best friend, Whitney Houston. Wendy and Robyn struck up a friendship after her appearance on the show.

“I am no lesbian. I like women for friendship. I like men and I like the D,” Wendy said during her show on Tuesday (November 26). “They title the article, ‘Wendy‘s been looking for female companionship and Whitney‘s rolling over in her grave because Wendy has found it in Robyn Crawford,’” Wendy added. “I’m like, first of all, I’m not down with that. All due respect to the lesbians. And Robyn is married, she’s got kids and I’m not a home wrecker!”

“I’ve never even been curious. It’s so complicated being a woman, I can’t imagine two of us in a relationship. Yesterday after the show, I got the surprise of my life, at 55 I got a period. I can’t deal with two women!” she added.

This isn’t the first time Wendy Williams has been in the headlines recently. She was just in a feud with another celeb!

The late Whitney Houston‘s best friend Robyn Crawford is continuing to speak out.

The 58-year-old best friend of the late singer opened up in an interview with NBC News’ Craig Melvin for a special edition of Dateline, which airs in full on Saturday (November 9) at 9 p.m. ET.

After confirming their long-rumored romantic relationship, Robyn is now confirming that Bobby Brown is not the one who introduced Whitney to cocaine, despite the commonly held public belief.

“I would remind Whitney that, you know, we said doing coke couldn’t go where we’re going and we’re already there. So we shouldn’t be doing it. I’d notice that she would go ahead and do it. She was having difficulty stopping,” Robyn said of Whitney‘s drug use, and her difficulty with stopping.

“She wasn’t doing it [drugs] regularly, but she would do it sometimes and might, you know-overdo it. But, you know, Bobby, he didn’t introduce her to cocaine,” she went on to say.

After years of speculation that the late Whitney Houston and her best friend Robyn Crawford had a romantic relationship, Robyn herself is now speaking out and confirming those rumors.

The 58-year-old best friend of the late singer opened up about their love affair in her upcoming memoir, A Song For You: My Life with Whitney Houston.

In the book, Robyn details their first meeting as counselors at a summer camp in New Jersey.

“We wanted to be together, and that meant just us,” she writes in the book.

According to Robyn, Whitney ended the physical part of their relationship early after signing a record deal with Clive Davis, apparently by giving Robyn a Bible in 1982.

“She said we shouldn’t be physical anymore because it would make our journey even more difficult. She said if people find out about us, they would use this against us, and back in the ’80s that’s how it felt…I kept it safe. I found comfort in my silence,” she went on to say.

She also spoke about pressure from Whitney‘s family.

“Whitney told me her mother said it wasn’t natural for two women to be that close, but we were that close…we never talked about labels, like lesbian or gay. We just lived our lives and I hoped it could go on that way forever.”

“Whitney knows I loved her and I know she loved me. We really meant everything to each other. We vowed to stand by each other,” she writes.

The footage of the late “I Will Always Love You” singer was released on Wednesday (May 16) at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.

Officially sanctioned by Whitney‘s estate, it features the singer as she deals with her family life, fame, and struggles with drug addiction.

It also touches on her relationships with former husband Bobby Brown, mother Cissy Houston, longtime friend Robyn Crawford, Paula Abdul, Clive Davis, and her The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner.
