Scarlett Johansson‘s press tour for her anticipated film Ghost In The Shell has officially begun!

The 32-year-old actress hit the red carpet looking gorgeous at the Japan premiere of Ghost In The Shell held at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku on Wednesday (March 16) in Tokyo, Japan.

Scarlett was joined by director Rupert Sanders, and co-stars Takeshi Kitano, Michael Carmen Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Chin Han and Juliette Binoche.

That same day, Scarlett and her crew also attended a photo call and press conference for Ghost In The Shell at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

FYI: Scarlett is wearing a Balmain gown and earrings and a ring by EF Collection at the premiere. She is wearing a Haney pant suit and a ring by Sara Weinstock at the press conference.

A new trailer for Scarlett Johansson‘s upcoming action flick Ghost in the Shell has been released and it gives us more insight into the story of the highly anticipated movie.

The 32-year-old actress plays Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Ghost in the Shell also stars Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt. The film, directed by Rupert Sanders, will hit theaters on March 31.

After the Ghost in the Shell trailer officially debuted earlier today, director Rupert Sanders is defending the casting of Scarlett Johansson, despite claims of white-washing.

“I cast very much from the gut,” Rupert said (via ET). “I think whenever you cast someone, someone’s going to be critical of it. To me, I stand by my decision. She’s the best actress of her generation, and I was flattered and honored that she would be in this film.”

“I was very lucky to get an amazing international cast of people that I’ve always really wanted to work with. Scarlett was one of those people,” Rupert continued. “There are very few actresses who’ve had 20 years of experience, who have the cyberpunk aesthetic already baked in. She comes from such edgy films, from Lost in Translation to Under the Skin. She’s got an incredibly body of work and her attitude and toughness is, to me, The Major.”

Rupert Sanders makes his way into LAX Airport on Monday afternoon (February 4) in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old director was spotted for the first time since his wife Liberty Ross filed for divorce from him and he was not wearing his wedding ring.

Liberty was seen at LAX Airport as well the day before, where she wore a fur coat.

Liberty was recently interviewed for the latest issue of Love magazine and talked about all of the media attention surrounding her. “I feel like recently I am finding out who I am,” she said.

Liberty Ross has filed for divorce from her husband Rupert Sanders, according to TMZ.

The 34-year-old actress Ross filed her paperwork in L.A. County Superior Court and asked for joint custody of their two children, Skyla and Tennyson.

Liberty is being repped by famed lawyer Laura Wasser and has also asked for spousal support from Rupert, as well as attorney’s fees.

Last summer, Rupert issued a public apology after being involved in a cheating scandal with his Snow White and the Huntsman actress Kristen Stewart.

Liberty Ross is casual comfy while grabbing some snacks with her cute son Tennyson in the Farmers Market at The Grove on Monday (January 7) in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old actress was seen enjoying a smoothie at the tables while chatting with friends.

Liberty was last spotted at the end of last year while attending the world premiere of the smart forjeremy Showcar in Hollywood, while her husband Rupert Sanders was seen grabbing lunch in Studio City.
