Team USA members Gabby Douglas and Sam Mikulak compete in individual events on Day 10 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at North Greenwich Arena on Monday (August 6) in London, England.

The 16-year-old Women’s Individual All-Around gold medalist competed in the Women’s Uneven Bars final, but unfortunately came in last place out of the eight finalists.

“It was an amazing talent of finalists,” Gabby said (via USA Today). “Coming into bar finals was a big challenge for me. I made a little mistake, but I’m human and when you get towards the end of the Olympics you get drained and tired.”

Sam, 19, competed in the Men’s Vault final and finished in fifth place.

The U.S. Men’s Gymnastics Team – Jonathan Horton, Danell Leyva, John Orozco, Jake Dalton, and Sam Mikulak – compete at the Artistic Gymnastics Men’s Team qualification on Day 1 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at North Greenwich Arena on Saturday (July 28) in London, England.

After the first day of competition, the team is in first place with a score of 275.342, three points ahead of Russia, the second place team.

Danell and John had the highest individual scores of the day and all five of the guys are in the running to land gold medals in individual events over the next couple weeks.
