Saoirse Ronan has compared Louisa May Alcott‘s own fight for the right to publish her books as her own, to Taylor Swift‘s fight to own her music.

The 25-year-old actress was chatting about her new movie, Little Women, during her interview on This Morning, and revealed that the groundbreaking author and Taylor have something big in common – the will to fight to own what is theirs.

“There’s such a thing right now, Taylor Swift just released an album and it’s the first album she’s ever owned…We really wanted to use this opportunity to honor this and fight for her work,” Saoirse shares, while talking about how Jo’s storyline in the book mirrored Louisa‘s in real life.

Timothee Chalamet keeps it cool and casual while joining his cast mates at the London photo call of their anticipated film Little Women held at The Corinthia Hotel on Monday morning (December 16) in London, England.

Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and director Greta Gerwig joined the 23-year-old actor, who plays Laurie in the film, on the roof of the hotel for their special photo call.

Also in attendance was other co-star James Norton and producer of the film Amy Pascal.

Little Women releases in UK cinemas on 26th December.

In Florence‘s cover with Glamour UK, she opened up about Timothee being part of “the gang” with them.

“Timmy was so involved with all the girls,” she shared. “He was just as desperate to be a part of our gang as we were. He was instantly in with the jokes and the wrestling. Everything about that dynamic didn’t feel like we were welcoming a boy – it was really wonderful.”

Saoirse Ronan sits down for a chat with Seth Meyers during her appearance on Late Night in New York City on Tuesday (December 11).

The 25-year-old actress opened up about working alongside Meryl Streep for Little Women, which opens on Christmas Day.

“I mean. She’s Meryl,” Saoirse shared. “I kept it together. She was very good at just coming on to set and not really having any airs and graces.”

She added that after she shot her only scene with Meryl, Saoirse was very sad it was over just like that.

“We were doing this scene and it was going well and we were having fun and at the end when they said they were moving to another scene, and it was my only scene with her, and I was like ‘it’s over, my moment with Meryl is over’,” she shared.

“I got really emotional and I was just thanking her for letting me act and stuff. I just sort of held her and not let her go. I basically forced her into a hug and just said thank you.”

The 25-year-old actress has been promoting the new film alongside her on-screen sisters, Eliza Scanlen and Florence Pugh, around the Big Apple all weekend long.

After the premiere over the weekend, Saoirse, Florence and Eliza were seen at a town hall event with SiriusXM and just recently, on Today.

“She’s a really, really brilliant filmmaker who, you know, we wouldn’t be here without her,” Saoirse shared about their director, Greta Gerwig, on Today.

She adds, “We’ve talked about how we’re all sort of inextricably linked. Our performances relied so much on one another, but Greta is the one that brought us all together and she’s the mastermind behind the whole thing.”

The cast of Little Women are making their press rounds!

Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, director Greta Gerwig and Saoirse Ronan all got together to make an appearance on SiriusXM’s Town Hall in support of their film Little Women hosted by SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle on Monday (December 9) in New York City.

Saoirse Ronan and the ladies all sat down for an interview moments after it was announced that she had just scored a Best Actress – Drama nomination for her role in the film at the 2020 Golden Globes.

While Saoirse scored a nomination for her performance, Greta was snubbed in her category for Best Director.
