Sara Bareilles Entertains Crowd During 'Waitress' Technical Glitch (Video)

Sara Bareilles saved the day when a technical glitch happened during a preview performance of the Broadway musical Waitress on Tuesday night (March 30) in New York City.

The singer-songwriter, who wrote the music and lyrics for the new show, got up on stage to entertain the crowd while the crew tried to fix the technical problem.

Sara sang a song cut from the musical called “Down at the Diner” and she also sang a snippet of The Little Mermaid‘s “Part of Your World.”

“Technical difficulty at the Brooks. So Ariel. #waitress,” Sara wrote on Instagram with a selfie on stage.

We didn't plan it.

Sara Bareilles offered a performance of “Down at the Diner,” a song cut from the Broadway production when a technical glitch put the show on hold.

Sara Bareilles' 'Waitress' Musical Breaks a Broadway Record!

Sara Bareilles‘ new Broadway musical Waitress, for which she wrote the music and lyrics, started performances this past weekend in New York City and it has already broken a record!

The new show, starring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller, set a house record at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre for the most money brought in at a single performance ever at the theatre with $145,532.

The musical was completely sold out for its first four performances and brought in 111.4% of its gross potential, behind only the smash hit shows Hamilton and Wicked, according to Broadway World.

“Today was pretty epic,” Sara wrote on Twitter on Sunday evening after the first weekend of shows wrapped up and it sounds like she’s going to have an epic run with her new show!

Zachary Levi and Laura Benanti are all smiles while hitting the red carpet at the Broadway opening night of their new play She Loves Me held at Studio 54 on Thursday (March 17) in New York City.

The 35-year-old actor and Laura, 36, were joined at the event by their co-stars Jane Krakowski and Gavin Creel, as well as Tina Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond, Neil Patrick Harris and his love David Burtka, Sara Bareilles, Parker Posey, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Nathan Lane, who all came out to show their support.

She Loves Me follows Amalia (Benanti) and Georg (Levi), two parfumerie clerks who aren’t quite the best of friends. Constantly bumping heads while on the job, the sparring coworkers can’t seem to find common ground. But little do they know the anonymous pen pals they have both been falling for happen to be each other! Sara Bareilles Performs 'Brave' with Girls Choir at White House

Sara Bareilles makes her entrance at the White House while attending the State Dinner held in honor of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday night (March 10) in Washington, D.C.

The 36-year-old singer performed her hit song “Brave” alongside the young ladies of the Children of the Gospel choir.

“Loving my ladies from the Children of the Gospel choir. Love getting to share the stage with bright and fire-y young women who already sing me under the table. Yaaas,” Sara wrote on her Instagram account before the event.

Jessie Mueller Sings Sara Bareilles' 'She Used to Be Mine' During 'Waitress' Rehearsal (Video)

Jessie Mueller will bring you to tears with her heartbreaking rendition of Sara Bareilles‘ original song “She Used to Be Mine” during rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway musical Waitress.

Sara wrote the music and lyrics for the new musical, based on the 2007 movie starring Keri Russell.

“She Used to Be Mine” is the character Jenna’s big number in the show and Sara released it as a single late last year. She also released an album with songs from the musical and you can get that now!

Jessie is a Tony-winning actress who previously played Carole King in Beautiful.

Sara Bareilles & Others Give 'Beautiful' Tribute to Carole King at Kennedy Center Honors (Video)

Sara Bareilles hits the stage to perform during a tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter Carole King during the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors, which aired on Tuesday (December 29).

The 36-year-old singer performed the classic song “You’ve Got a Friend” for a joyous Carole.

Janelle Monae performed “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “One Fine Day,” James Taylor sang “Up on the Roof,” and Aretha Franklin stopped the show with “Natural Woman.”

The stars of Broadway’s Beautiful the MusicalChilina Kennedy and Scott J. Campbell – narrated the tribute and also sang “So Far Away.”
