Sara Bareilles makes an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night (May 12) in New York City.
Sara was asked if she’s nervous to go up against Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda in the Best Original Score category at the Tonys this year.
“Nervous is not the right word. I think, I’m such a huge fan of Hamilton and of the show and of Lin’s in particular. I’m not actually a very competitive person. What I like about the awards season is that it brings attention to the theatre and I grew up on musical theatre and so I just love that people are paying attention and I think that because of the gift of Hamilton there’s a whole new set of eyes paying attention to what has been this incredible legacy of people working in the theatre for decades and decades. So I’m going to help him carry his Tony’s home and I’m really ok with that. It’s all good,” Sara said.
