Jan Hooks Gets an 'SNL' Emotional Tribute - Watch Now

The cast and crew of Saturday Night Live paid tribute to the late Jan Hooks this weekend by showing one of her most memorable scenes.

Back during the show’s 14th season, the sketch was a departure from the normal comedic fare you see on the program and we haven’t really seen anything like it since. The clip also stars Phil Hartman and it was replayed following his death in 1998 as well.

Jan died last week from an undisclosed illness at the age of 57. Watch the clip below to remember how great she was on the show and help the memory of her live on.

Chelsea Handler on Never Hosting 'SNL': They Blew Me Off

Chelsea Handler is speaking out about being blown off by the producers of Saturday Night Live after they asked her to host the show and never came through with an official offer.

“They said, ‘You’re gonna host.’ I was doing Radio City Music Hall that night… They’re gonna hate that I’m talking about this right now, but I really don’t have a problem with that. So they said, ‘Oh, we have to have you host.’ My agent called, he said, ‘You’re hosting SNL. They’re gonna give you a date in the fall.’ And then it never happened,” the 39-year-old comedian said in a HuffPost Live interview.

After that first opportunity fell through, she was asked to host again when her book “Uganda Be Kidding Me” was released this year.

“I said, ‘OK, great. Well, they blew me off last time, I don’t know what the issue was.’ And I think the thing I heard was something like … the writers have a problem anytime we bring on a comedian, which is complete nonsense,” Chelsea said. “I mean, Sarah [Silverman]‘s hosted, Lena Dunham hosted it.”

“I feel bad for people who can’t just say, ‘Listen, you’re just not our cup of tea,’” she said.

Bill Hader Jokes About 'Saturday Night Live' Diversity in New Promos with Kenan Thompson - Watch Now!

Check out the brand new Saturday Night Live promos featuring this weekend’s host Bill Hader!

The 36-year-old actor, who was a castmember on the show from 2005-2013, asked his former castmate Kenan Thompson what’s been new since he left.

Kenan responded, “We renovated the bathroom. There’s spaghetti and meatballs in the cafeteria. And we got a ton of black people now!”

This of course pokes fun at the controversy earlier this year that the cast wasn’t diverse enough, which prompted the hiring of Sasheer Zamata.
