'SNL' Writer Suspended Over Barron Trump Tweet (Report)

Katie Rich, a writer for Saturday Night Live, was caught up in controversy over the weekend after she suggested that Barron Trump would grow up to be “this country’s first homeschool shooter.”

The 10-year-old son of President Trump has received a lot of unkind words online during the weekend of the inauguration and former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton spoke out to defend Barron‘s right to be a normal kid.

While an official comment from the SNL team has not been released, sources told Deadline that Katie was “suspended indefinitely” from the show and her name wasn’t in the credits for the latest episode.

Katie also took to her Twitter account to release an apology for her words.

“I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry,” she tweeted. She also has deleted all of her tweets.

Chris Brown Responds to Aziz Ansari's Comments on 'SNL'

Chris Brown is speaking out to let everyone know he is not happy about being compared to Donald Trump during Aziz Ansari‘s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

“I’m sure there’s a lot of people that voted for Trump the same way a lot of people listen to the music of Chris Brown, where it’s like, ‘Hey, man! I’m just here for the tunes,” Aziz said in the opening monologue. “I don’t know about that other stuff. I just like the dancing and the music. I don’t condone the extracurriculars.”

“If you think about it, Donald Trump is basically the Chris Brown of politics,” Aziz added. “And ‘Make America Great Again’ is his ‘These hoes ain’t loyal.’”

VIDEO: Cecily Strong & Sasheer Zamata Sing a Goodbye to Obama on 'SNL'

The first episode of Saturday Night Live to take place during Donald Trump‘s presidency featured a farewell to President Obama at the end of the night.

Cecily Strong and Sasheer Zamata sang an emotional version of the classic song “To Sir With Love” while a black and white photo of Obama was projected on a screen behind them.

Cecily hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2015 and she took to her Instagram account the other day to remember the moment.

“One of the best moments of my life. Getting to sort of start to begin to try and thank this hero. As messy and awful and stupid and ugly and violent and deadly and embarrassing and idiotic as things can sometimes feel- I’m still so proud to be part of a country that produces families and people like the Obamas. Thank you for making this a better country and making me a better person,” Cecily said.

VIDEO: SNL's Putin Mocks Trump's Inauguration Crowd Size in Cold Open

Tonight’s Saturday Night Live cold open featured Russian President Vladimir Putin (played by SNL cast member Beck Bennett) taking a jab at U.S. President Donald Trump‘s inauguration crowd size, comparing it to the 2017 Women’s March crowd size.

Donald, let’s talk as friends,” Beck‘s Vladimir said. “You’re not off to a great start, man. I thought you’d be better at this.”

“However, I’m glad to see so many people showed up at your inauguration,” he added as a photo of Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington flashed on the screen.

“Oh wait, that’s the Women’s March. Here is inauguration,” he went on, showing another photo.

As you probably know, Donald reportedly made false claims about his inauguration crowd size, saying the media lied.
