Relive SNL's 2009 'Beauty & the Beast' Parody Starring Kristen Wiig & Gerard Butler - Watch Now!

With Beauty and the Beast hitting theaters this weekend, you should relive this silly Saturday Night Live sketch from 2009 starring Kristen Wiig as Belle and Gerard Butler as The Beast.

“They say true love can break the curse, and I can’t imagine a love more true than this,” Kristen says as Belle.

“Oh darling, I can hardly wait for your transformation,” Gerard says as The Beast.

“What do you mean, my transformation,” she questions.

“You know, the curse will be broken. And you can stop being a beast,” he says.

“You think I’m the beast!,” she says, shocked!

Gerard‘s Beast later goes on to say that Kristen‘s Belle is a “six” and he prefers a woman with “a big ass.”

Bill Hader plays Lumiere, Bobby Moynihan plays Cogworth, and Jenny Slate plays Mrs. Potts.

“If you see the 2017 version of #BeautyAndTheBeast, make sure you also catch the 2009 one starring Kristen Wiig and me,” Gerard posted on Instagram today to re-promote the clip.

'Saturday Night Live' Will Air Live Nationwide, Last Four Hosts Announced

For the first time ever, Saturday Night Live will air live across America (it’s usually pre-taped for the West Coast broadcast).

“SNL— enjoying its most popular season in two decades — is part of the national conversation, and we thought it would be a great idea to broadcast to the west and mountain time zones live at the same time it’s being seen in the east and central time zones,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said (via THR). “That way, everyone is in on the joke at the same time. Kudos to Lorne Michaels, the producers and cast for making SNL one of the most relevant and anticipated shows in the zeitgeist.”

The show will air at 11:30pm EST/8:30pm PST live.

'SNL' Weekend Update Is Headed to Primetime!

Saturday Night Live‘s popular Weekend Update segment is headed to primetime, at least for the summer!

The late night segment, hosted by SNL writers Colin Jost and Michael Che, is set to air four primetime specials later this year.

“SNL is having its best season in a quarter of a century — how many shows can say that?! — so we didn’t want them to take the summer off. We’re thrilled to have Colin Jost and Michael Che continuing their unique brand of news with fresh ‘Weekend Update’ shows in primetime this August,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement.

The primetime specials are set to air starting beginning August 10th.

Pete Davidson Returns to 'SNL' After Getting Sober

Pete Davidson made his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live after taking some time off.

The 23-year-old comedian joined the Weekend Update desk in his “resident young person” segment where he gave his first impressions of Donald Trump‘s administration.

“All the Republicans wanted Paul Ryan to come up with something to replace Obamacare, and now that he did, everybody hates it,” Pete said. “I know what this is like because for years, people have been asking me to quit drugs and get sober. And now that I have, everyone thinks I’m unfunny and boring””

Pete added, “But hey, at least I have dreams now, and I’ve started waking up with boners again. Hard as a rock.”

He later wrote on Instagram, “Good to be back and shitting on dudes like this”

Pete recently opened up about getting sober for the first time in eight years.
