Margot Robbie Will Host 'SNL' Season Premiere on October 1!

Margot Robbie is set to host the season premiere episode of Saturday Night Live!

The 26-year-old Suicide Squad actress will take over the October 1 episode to launch the sketch comedy series’ 42nd season.

The musical guest on the episode will be The Weeknd, who just announced his new album Starboy. The album is set to hit stores on November 25 and the debut single is out now.

'Saturday Night Live' Reveals New Cast Members After Taran Killiam & Jay Pharaoh Departure

Saturday Night Live just revealed their three new cast members after the unexpected departure of veteran performers Taran Killam and Jay Pharaoh.

The late night sketch show announced that Mikey Day, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor would all be joining the cast as featured players.

Both Melissa, who is the show’s first ever Latina cast member, and Alex are brand new to the show, while Mikey has been a writer on SNL since 2013.

Alex previously served as a writer on the Lorne Michaels-produced variety show Maya & Marty and Melissa was a Top 16 finalist on the sixth season of America’s Got Talent.

Saturday Night Live‘s 42nd season kicks off on October 1st on NBC.

SNL's Jon Rudnitsky Not Returning for Season 42

Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah aren’t the only Saturday Night Live cast members exiting the show…new featured player Jon Rudnitsky will also not return for season 42.

Jon was added to the cast last year and was the only new addition for season 41. Jon did impressions of Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Cruise and Vladimir Putin on the show.

SNL has not yet added any new cast members for the 42nd season.

The new season will premiere next month. The celebrity hosts have not yet been announced.

Fred Armisen performs a one man play about his show business journey during his opening monologue for Saturday Night Live’s 41st season finale on Saturday (May 21).

The 49-year-old comedian appeared as the show’s host for the first time that night after serving as a cast member from 2002 to 2013.

Since leaving the show, Fred has continued work on his comedy show Portlandia and serves as the band leader for fellow SNL alum Seth Meyers’ show Late Night with Seth Meyers.

In one particular short titled “Drake’s Beef,” the 29-year-old rapper tries to connect with the cast – and even Lorne Michaels – throughout the week, but gets mad over some #firstworldproblems and breaks into raps about them.

For example, Aidy Bryant takes a seat next to him, moving his hat out of the way, after asking if anyone was using the chair.

He raps, “Actually I was, you b-tch / it was for my hat / but you took it from me / now we’re never going back/ I can never trust you / because you’re rude to my hat / if Josh Gad was here / he would have made me laugh.”

Drake Performs 'One Dance' on 'SNL' - Watch Now!

Drake sings while standing in giant light up cube during his performance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 14).

The 29-year-old Canadian rapper, who is also hosting the show, was joined by two dancers as he performed his song “One Dance” off of his recently released album Views.

The performance marked Drake’s third appearance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live. His first was in 2011 on an episode hosted by Anna Farris.

Drake Sings About Being a Meme in 'SNL' Opening Monologue - Watch Now!

Drake channels his feelings through song during his opening monologue for Saturday Night Live on Saturday (May 14).

The 29-year-old “Hotline Bling” rapper performed a song about how he’s always being turned into memes while pictures of him as a meme were shown, including shots of his face photoshopped onto E.T. and Flo from Progressive.

The song included lyrics like, “I just want to scream, because I’m more than a meme.”
