The cast reunited for the special virtual graduation ceremony in character, serenading grads with a performance of Mariah‘s “Hero” before she herself came onto the Zoom call, which resulted in David, played by Daniel Levy, completely losing his cool.

“I think I’m having a heart attack!” he announced after Mariah riffed a little bit of “Always Be My Baby” after the performance.

“To the students who had to deal with this bleak moment, congratulations on this historic accomplishment,” Mariah said.

Will 'Schitt's Creek' Get a Spinoff or Movie? Here's What Creator Dan Levy Said...

Schitt’s Creek came to an emotional end on Tuesday night (April 7), and now, Dan Levy is speaking out.

The 36-year-old co-creator and star of the hit series addressed the idea of spinoffs and movies in an interview with THR.

“I haven’t yet. I find it very flattering that people want to know about this. I think that’s a sign that we’ve done something good. The reason we ended the show in the first place was because I never wanted it to get stale. I never wanted to overstay our welcome. I wanted this show to have a legacy that people return to. I wanted it to be included in conversations about great series and not just a great season. And that requires making tough decisions about saying goodbye,” he explained.

“So the idea of reopening anything anytime soon is not necessarily going to happen because I think we need time and space. I think the audience needs to take a breath in order to really want to see these characters again, and more importantly, I need to take a breath, do some other things in order to hopefully get an idea that is special enough to bring everyone back together. Because the last thing anyone would want is for us to just do something in haste, have it not be good, and have that be the legacy of the show.”

Here’s the emotional note he shared after the show wrapped.

Dan Levy & 'Schitt's Creek' Cast Raise Tons of Money For Food Banks Ahead of Series Finale

The cast of Schitt’s Creek are giving back in a big way to commemorate the series finale of the series.

In a new interview, Dan Levy revealed that the cast of the show had raised over $190,000 for Food Banks Canada and Feeding America to help provide food during the COVID-19 crisis.

While the initial goal was $100,000, the cast and fans of the series went above and beyond that and raised just over $190,000 for the organizations.

“It’s a beautiful reminder that in darkness there is light, and that people are wanting to help in any way possible,” Dan shared in the interview.

He adds, “It’s a tough time to be asking for donations from people because people are losing their jobs. So for us, it was really about giving what you can. And if you can’t give anything, then just tune in.”

“I was stunned by the excitement and people’s ability to give,” Dan continued. “It’s always quite moving to be in such strange and precarious times and be reassured that there’s a lot of goodness out there.”

Dan Levy Opens Up About 'Schitt's Creek's Series Finale: 'I Feel Very Good About It'

Series creator and star Daniel Levy is opening up and looking back on the incredible run of Schitt’s Creek.

Speaking with Variety, Daniel says that he feels very good about the series ending, which sees his character, David Rose, get married.

“Hope you stick the landing! I think we did,” he shared about the final episode. “I feel very good about it.”

Daniel added that “the goal was at the end of this show, this family will realize the value of love. Money can temporarily bandage a lot of things. But they would never be able to buy the kind of closeness that they have by the end of the series.”

While the series is officially over after tonight, Daniel isn’t saying no to a reunion one day – but that’s one day that’s not anytime soon.

“I wish that this show could have gone on 100 seasons. But it’s quality over quantity,” he shared. “If an idea crosses my path that I feel is deserving of our cast’s time, then let’s do it. I don’t know what it could possibly be at this point.”

He continues, “I would love to revisit these characters, and I would love to get to play with this cast again. I feel very proud of the work that we’ve done, and I wouldn’t want to do anything that compromises that.”

Schitt’s Creek airs TONIGHT, April 7 at 8/7c on PopTV.

Star and series creator Dan Levy even popped on Twitter to tell fans to stop for now.

“The towns where we shot Schitt’s Creek were so lovely and accommodating to us. Please show them the same respect,” he wrote. “Visiting right now is a threat to the residents’ health and safety. Thanks for understanding.”
