Hulu Removes Blackface Episodes of 'Scrubs'

Hulu is removing episodes of Scrubs.

The streaming service has removed three episodes of the medical comedy that featured characters in blackface due to a request by the show’s creator Bill Lawrence and ABC Studios, Variety confirmed Wednesday (June 24).

The episodes that have been removed are: “My Fifteen Seconds” (season 3, episode 7), “My Jiggly Ball” (season 5, episode 4) and “My Chopped Liver” (season 5, episode 17).

The series ran from 2001 to 2010, and followed characters like John Michael “J.D.” Dorian (Zach Braff), Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke) and Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), employees at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital, a teaching hospital.

“Agreed. Already in the works,” Bill confirmed to a user on Twitter when news broke that 30 Rock was doing the same with offensive episodes.

The Scrubs family sadly lost this actor back in May.
