The Richest 'Game of Thrones' Stars Ranked (& How How Do Their Net Worths Compare to Creator George R.R. Martin's?)

Game of Thrones is the sort of industry dominating, pop culture titan that comes around every so often and totally changes the game. And while the characters fought for the Iron Throne, the show made its stars wealthy in real life.

The HBO show brought the world of Westeros to life straight from the pages of George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire novels and became a breakaway hit that fans are still talking about four years after the grand finale.

It’s such a beloved franchise that it expanded with the release of a new spinoff series House of the Dragon, which started in 2022 and was almost instantly renewed for a second season.

The original cast is made up of an incredible group of talented actors. Some of them, especially the youngest stars, came to fame with Game of Thrones and have gone on to find success elsewhere. Take Sophie Turner, for example, who brought Sansa Stark to life and went on to join the X-Men franchise, portraying one of the universe’s most powerful heroes.

Others enjoyed successful careers before joining the series and continue to star in major projects across the globe in 2023.

Who has amassed the largest approximate net worth over the years? We did some digging and put together a ranking from lowest to highest. We asked a second question, too: How does the wealthiest member of the cast compare to George?

Sean Bean's Co-Star Lena Hall Responds to His Comments on Intimacy Coordinators, Clarifies Information

Lena Hall is speaking out after being mentioned in comments made by actor Sean Bean.

The former Game of Thrones actor said in a new interview that intimacy coordinators spoil the “spontaneity” of love scenes for film and TV shows.

Sean brought up the intimate scene he shared with Lena in season two of the TV series Snowpiercer. They had a sex scene that included a piece of mango, as in the fruit.

“I think they cut a bit out actually. Often the best work you do, where you’re trying to push the boundaries, and the very nature of it is experimental, gets censored when TV companies or the advertisers say it’s so much. It’s a nice scene, quite surreal, dream-like and abstract. And mango-esque,” Sean said in the interview with the U.K.’s Times Magazine (via Variety).

The interviewer said that intimacy coordinators help protect actors and Sean responded, “I suppose it depends on the actress. This one [referring to Hall] had a musical cabaret background, so she was up for anything.”

Now, Lena is speaking out in response to Sean‘s comments.

Sean Bean Speaks Out About Intimacy Coordinators: 'It Spoils The Spontaneity'

Intimacy Coordinators have been becoming a staple on movie and television sets in the past couple of years.

According to SAG Aftra, the role of an intimacy coordinator is an advocate, a liaison between actors and production, and a movement coach and/or choreographer in regards to nudity and simulated sex and other intimate and hyper-exposed scenes.

While some actors are very welcoming to them on the set, others just don’t get their roles – and that includes Sean Bean.

'Snowpiercer' Brings Layton & Wilford Face To Face In First Trailer For Season Two

Daveed Diggs and Sean Bean come face to face in the brand new trailer for the second season of Snowpiercer.

During the virtual New York Comic Con panel, showrunner Graeme Manson opened up about the threat of Wilford and the dynamic between him and Alexandra, who is also Melanie’s daughter.

“We’re just very lucky to have [Rowan Blanchard, who plays Alexandra] with us. It’s really nice to have someone of her age next to Sean Bean and watch those two work together,” he shared. “But it’s a true shock at the end of Season 1 that that’s who this is and then it’s going to be a tremendous shock for Melanie at the beginning of Season 2, that her daughter is alive.”

He continued, “Not only that her daughter is alive, her daughter has been under Wilford’s sway and to some degree, or to a degree that we’re going to figure out, has been turned against her. So it’s a terribly heartbreaking position for Melanie to step into and it also sets up Rowan’s character for a real journey throughout the season, a journey of enlightenment and a journey into adulthood, really.”

Snowpiercer season two will premiere in January on TNT.
