Sean Faris has landed the lead in drama pilot for the CW called The Wyoming Project.

The show was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who is best known as the creator and executive producer of Gilmore Girls. According to THR, Sean, 27, will play Gideon Thorpe, a horse trainer who becomes the patriarch of a Wyoming ranch responsible for his three younger sisters after their parents die.

Rachael Leigh Cook has also been tapped as the lead on Fox’s comedy pilot Nirvana.

Nirvana revolves around “two grown Indian-American brothers who clash with their controlling immigrant parents as they assimilate American culture, particularly one son, who lives with a white girlfriend (Cook).”

Sean Faris is joining the cast of The Vampire Diaries starting tonight for a multi-episode arc!!

The 27-year-old actor, who was photographed by Tyler Shields, recently shared his thoughts with BettyConfidential. Check it:

On what people would be surprised to learn about him: “That I’m actually a very humble guy. People think because you’re an actor that you think you’re a big deal, but I’m an actor because I love acting. I don’t act because I want to be famous. I’m just a guy from Texas who has a cool job, a great family and a lot of love. I’m very, very lucky.”

On what he thinks is so sexy about vampires: “I think it’s the fantasy of it all. Living at night, being immortal – it’s very intriguing and seductive too. Wouldn’t you say?”

On his idea of the perfect date: “Being in Hawaii, sleeping under the stars during a full moon, while sipping champagne and seeing my girlfriend’s perfect smile and beautiful golden eyes.”

Vampire Diaries star Sean Faris goes shirtless for the February 2010 cover of Men’s Health. Here are some fitness tips from the 27-year-old actor:

On not eating out too often: “Cooking at home is key to being in shape. You can order a salad in a restaurant, but not know what you’re getting.”

On lifting lighter weights but with better form: “I see so many people in the gym just slinging weight around. You can accomplish more if you squeeze the reps out in perfect form, instead of going big and trying to kill it every time.”

On cheating big or going home: “If I’m going to cheat, I do it right,” (His recent splurge: a brownie, and ice cream with hot fudge.)

Shirtless male hotties Sean Faris (Life As We Know It, Reunion) and Cam Gigandet (Volchock from The O.C.) film a fight scene on the Orlando, FL set of their upcoming action film Never Back Down (it was filmed at a club near Universal Studios).

In the film, rebellious teen Jake Tyler (Faris) is lured into an underground fight club at his new high school. He finds a mentor in a mixed martial arts veteran (Djimon Hounsou) and eventually gets in the ring with Ryan McDonald (Gigandet).

Never Back Down opens in 2008 and also stars Amber Heard (Greta from Hidden Palms). Faris reportedly gained 15 lbs. of muscle during training and trained 7 hours a day, 6 days a week for this film.

What do you consider your own personal style?  Comfort.  If it’s comfortable and it looks decent, I’ll wear it.  There’s no in-between for me.  Either I want to be rocking in an Armani suit, or I want to be in jeans and a T-shirt.  I wouldln’t want to be in khakis and a button-down.  that’s just not me.
Favorite designer to wear on a red carpet?  On the red carpet, Armani.  I love Armani.  I actually just went to his fashion show in Milan.
Does the comparison to Tom Cruise get old?  Yeah, it really does.  No disrespect.  I think he’s a really good actor.  I’m flattered, but I’m not him.
Would you play a gay role?  Actually, my first role ever was as a gay kid who had a big crush on — and a relationship with — his best friend.  It was a horrible independent.  I don’t think it ever got released.  I don’t even remember the name of it.
