Sean Penn's Message For Critics Of His Book: 'You Can Say Anything You Like'

Sean Penn isn’t worried or bothered by criticism of his new book, “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff: A Novel.”

The 57-year-old actor released his first fictional book last week and has been receiving some not-so-favorable reviews over a poem in the book about the #MeToo movement and a passage slamming the Trump Administration.

“There is an issue related to the ozone and there’s a lack of engagement with social media to a degree, and therefore, global consumerism,” Sean joked when asked about the criticism on Conan. “So, in culling certain demographics, we make a better world.”

“What I would say is: ‘I’m 57, my pool’s heated—you can say anything you like,” Sean continued – Watch the interview below!

Sean Penn hit Stephen Colbert‘s couch on The Late Show on Monday night (March 26) and admitted that he was experiencing a bit of an Ambien hangover.

“You’ve inherited a little bit of the Ambien I had to take to get to sleep after a redeye last night,” the 57-year-old actor told Stephen while relaxing on his couch.

“So, in other words, you’re still a little bit on the Ambien train right now?” Stephen asked, to which Sean responded, “a little bit,” before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up on stage.

Sean then proceeded to promote his new book “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff: A Novel,” which centers on a septic tank salesman-turned-assassin who kills old people with a wooden mallet – Watch the full interview below!

Sean Penn Raves About Lady Gaga's Upcoming Film 'A Star Is Born'

Sean Penn is a big fan of Lady Gaga‘s upcoming movie, A Star Is Born!

The 57-year-old actor gave his honest opinion after seeing the movie and says he was surprised about how good it was.

“I just saw, what should be a disaster. I saw a remake, the third remake, of A Star Is Born. And if I could do that today, what he did with that story, I’d be staying in the game. But I don’t have the perspective, and maybe not the skill sets,” Sean said during an interview with Marc Maron.

He added, “This is one of the most beautiful, fantastic, it’s the best, and most importantly, commercial film I have seen in so many years.”

He added that Gaga and co-star Bradley Cooper are “miracles in it.”

A Star Is Born is set to hit theaters on October 5th.

Sean Penn Slams Donald Trump in Opt-Ed: 'He is an Enemy of Mankind'

Sean Penn is speaking out following Donald Trump‘s “disgraceful” comments about immigrants from Haiti and Africa.

In an essay for Time, the 57-year-old actor and founder of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization slammed Donald on the eighth anniversary of the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake.

“On this pale blue dot Earth that we call home, the Haitian people are our neighbors, to whom our support is both the policy of a great America as it is a sacred duty,” Sean wrote.

He continued, “President Donald Trump‘s words describing the glorious people of Africa, El Salvador and Haiti is far worse than mere insensitivity or even nationalism. Those standards are not disgraceful enough.”

He concluded by saying, “We will find unity only when we recognize that in our current president we have elected, perhaps for the first time in our history, an enemy of compassion. Indeed, we can be unified not only with each other but with Africa, El Salvador, Haiti, Mexico, the Middle East and beyond if we recognize President Donald Trump is an enemy of Americans, Republicans, Democrats, Independents and every new child born. An enemy of mankind. He is indeed an enemy of the state.”
