Selena Gomez Dedicates Song to Christina Grimmie, Breaks Down on Stage (Video)

Selena Gomez is overwhelmed with emotion in this new video from her Revival Tour concert at American Airlines Arena on Saturday night (June 11) in Miami, Fla.

The singer dedicated a song to her longtime friend Christina Grimmie, who tragically died the night before from a violent shooting at her meet-and-greet.

“One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her,” Selena told the crowd. “I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about good deeds. I think she just had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her.”

Also dedicating songs to Christina that evening at their respective shows were Charlie Puth, Fifth Harmony, and Rachel Platten. Click inside to see those videos too.

Selena Gomez & Her Step-Dad React to Christina Grimmie's Death

Selena Gomez and her stepfather Brian Teefey, the manager of the late Christina Grimmie, are reacting to news of the singer’s shocking death.

The 22-year-old singer, who was shot and killed at her Orlando concert on Friday night (June 10), toured with Selena several times over the years.

“My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina,” Selena tweeted along with a silly selfie of them two.

Brian has started a GoFundMe page to assist the Grimmie family during this time of need.

“Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me. All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided,” he said in a statement. “As family, Mother, Father, and Brother made the ultimate family sacrifice to support Christina on her musical journey. They did nothing but love her and support her as family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery.”

Justin Bieber Follows Selena Gomez on Instagram

Justin Bieber has started following his ex girlfriend Selena Gomez on Instagram.

It has apparently been a long time since the 22-year-old singer has followed his 23-year-old ex on the social media platform (apparently, since November of 2014). They previously dated on and off from 2011 to 2014.

Selena Gomez Will Donate Proceeds From North Carolina Performance to LGBT Group

Selena Gomez is still set to take the stage for her Revival Tour in North Carolina on Tuesday (June 7) despite many musicians cancelling their performances after an anti-LGBTQ law was passed in April.

Instead of calling off the show, the 23-year-old entertainer is planning on donating proceeds from the concert to a local LGBT organization, much like Kristin Chenoweth.

“I am very fortunate to have grown up in a home where I learned from an early age that everyone should be treated equally. I went back and forth on whether I should cancel my concert in North Carolina and ultimately I think what is right for me is to move forward with my show and donate a portion of the proceeds to Equality North Carolina and their effort to defeat this act of discrimination,” she said in a statement.

Selena added, “I’ve been reassured the venue I will be performing in has gender neutral bathrooms as I want everyone coming to my show to be welcomed. I feel like my generation is the most progressive one yet and believe there will be a day soon when laws like HB2 won’t even be a consideration.”
