Seth MacFarlane flies in the air while parodying Sally Field‘s classic character The Flying Nun during the opening monologue at the 2013 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 24) in Hollywood.

The segment was shown when William Shatner showed Seth clips of what his Oscars performance would be if he didn’t turn it around.

The 39-year-old Family Guy creator started off his monologue cracking some jokes before William Shatner showed up on a screen as Star Trek‘s James T. Kirk and showed him some clips from the future to advise him to change up his performance.

Seth ended up bringing out Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron to perform a dance number and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Radcliffe to sing a song together.

Sally Field also made an appearance while Seth played her classic character, The Flying Nun! Watch it all go down in the video below.

The guys joined host Seth MacFarlane to help turn the show around after William Shatner showed up as Star Trek’s James T. Kirk to tell him he was going to get bad reviews.

Channing Tatum lifts Charlize Theron into the air while performing a dance at the 2013 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 24) in Hollywood.

The 32-year-old actor and the 37-year-old actress were brought out on stage during Seth MacFarlane‘s opening number in which he was told by William Shatner that he would get bad reviews.

In order to improve the show, Seth sang “The Way You Look Tonight” while Channing and Charlize performed a dance segment.

FYI: Charlize is wearing a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and Werner Kern shoes.

The 39-year-old Family Guy creator is the evening’s host and his opening was interrupter by William Shatner as James T. Kirk, who told him his performance was going to be panned the next day.

William showed Seth a video of a song he performed during the show called “We Saw Your Boobs” and told him it would ruin his reviews. Check out the performance below!

Kristin Chenoweth is set to perform a special closing number at the 2013 Academy Awards alongside host Seth MacFarlane!

“After the Best Picture award has been given, Seth and Kristin will perform a special number and we think it will be a ‘can’t miss’ moment,” producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

It has already been confirmed that there will be a tribute to musicals during the show, featuring Les Miserables cast members Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Aaron Tveit, and Helena Bonham Carter, Chicago‘s Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Dreamgirls‘ Jennifer Hudson.

Seth MacFarlane and Emilia Clarke show that their relationship is still going strong while attending HBO’s After Party following the 2013 Golden Globes held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 13) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 39-year-old Family Guy creator accompanied the 25-year-old actress to the party, where the network celebrated her show Game of Thrones, which was unfortunately left off the nominee list this year.

Awards season is about to get a little busy for Seth because he’ll soon be preparing to host the Oscars, taking place on February 24. We can’t wait!
