Kellan Lutz shares a laugh with his girlfriend Sharni Vinson while making their way through LAX Airport on Thursday (April 4) in Los Angeles.

It was just announced that the 28-year-old actor has signed on to star as the title role in the upcoming flick Hercules 3D, according to THR.

“It takes more than a good physique to portray the most legendary, mythological personality in history – and Kellan has exactly that, personality,” director Renny Harlin said in a statement. “He’s not afraid to explore the strengths and vulnerabilities of the character, and he impressed me with his passion and heart.”

The film is set to begin shooting in May.
