Slipknot is back on top of the charts.
The rock band debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with their latest album We Are Not Your Kind as of Sunday (August 18), according to the official chart company.
The album moved 118,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 102,000 of those being album sales.
This is the first hard rock album to top the Billboard 200 since the Foo Fighters‘ Concrete & Gold in 2017! It’s also the largest week for a hard rock album since that record.
This is the band’s fifth Top 10 album. They previously scored No. 1 albums with .5: The Gray Chapter in 2014 and All Hope Is Gone in 2008.

The heavy metal band released their latest record on Friday (August 9), which immediately shot to the No. 1 spot on iTunes.

The album includes the previously released “Unsainted,” as well as “Solway Firth” and “Birth of the Cruel.”
“This is the most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together. One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full length albums – not just songs. While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back,” said guitarist Jim Root.

Shawn “Clown” Crahan is mourning the death of his daughter.
The 49-year-old Slipknot percussionist took to his band’s social media accounts to announce that his daughter Gabrielle has passed away. She was only 22-years-old.
“It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away … May 18, 2019. She was 22 years old,” Shawn wrote. “My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward.”
Gabrielle is the youngest daughter of Shawn and wife Chantel. The couple has three other kids – daughter Alexandria and sons Gage and Simon.
As of right now, the cause of Gabrielle‘s death is unknown.
Our thoughts are with the Crahan family during this difficult time.
