Netflix's Quarantine Anthology Series 'Social Distance' Gets First Trailer - Watch!

Netflix has dropped the first trailer and images from their new anthology series, Social Distance.

Set in the initial months of the coronavirus pandemic, the series is an eight-part anthology series that showcases the power of the human spirit in the face of uncertainty and isolation.

Each standalone episode is told through a virtual lens and captures the unique emotional experience of being forced apart by circumstance and having no choice but to communicate remotely and rely on technology to maintain any sense of connection.

Through these varied and deeply human stories, Social Distance aims to provide some much-needed catharsis during a tumultuous time while also capturing a snapshot of this singular moment in history.

Social Distance, starring Mike Colter, Oscar Nunez, Rocco Luna, Lachlan Watson, Danielle Brooks and many more, will premiere on Thursday, October 15 on Netflix.

'Social Distance': Jenji Kohan Creating Quarantine-Inspired Series for Netflix

Orange is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan is creating a quarantine-inspired series called Social Distance, which will be produced and filmed remotely.

Netflix will air the scripted anthology series that Hilary Weisman Graham will write and serve as showrunner, with Diego Velasco directing.

“Our job as storytellers is to reflect reality,” the producers told THR. “And in this new, bizarre, bewildering reality we are all experiencing, we feel passionate about finding connection as we all remain at a distance. We’ve been inspired to create an anthology series that tells stories about the current moment we are living through — the unique, personal, deeply human stories that illustrate how we are living apart, together. We are challenging ourselves to do something new: To create and produce virtually so that our cast and crew can stay healthy and safe. Writers never physically meet during the writing process… The cast not only acts, but also films themselves at home. The experience of social distancing is currently universal, but no individual story is the same. Through a broad spectrum of tales and moments, some seismic and some mundane, we hope to capture a moment in time. And we hope that Social Distance will help people feel closer to one another.”
