Sophia Bush Explains Why She Left 'Chicago PD'

Sophia Bush is shutting down rumors about why she left Chicago PD after four seasons on the hit NBC series.

The 35-year-old actress just announced that she signed a development deal with 20th Century Fox and will be starring in a new pilot for the studio. A fan commented on her Instagram questioning if she left Chicago PD for this new adventure.

Then, another fan said, “Idk it sounded like they cut her not she cut them.”

Sophia decided to respond to this fan’s comment to explain what really happened. “Took me a long time and a lot of hard work to get out of that show. Please don’t demean my capabilities by degrading my position. I left because I wanted to. End of story,” she said.

Sophia Bush Is Developing a Pilot to Be Her Next TV Show!

Fans of Sophia Bush who were sad to see her leave Chicago PD will be happy to learn that she has signed a talent deal with 20th Century Fox that will see her develop a new pilot to star in!

The 35-year-old actress will star in either a drama or comedy pilot during the upcoming pilot season. She also will have the opportunity to serve as executive producer on other projects she helps develop with the studio.

“Now more than ever, vital female voices need to be heard,” Sophia said in a statement (via Deadline). I’m thrilled to begin developing content that inspires and excites me at 20th Century Fox TV.”

We can’t wait to have Sophia back on TV!

Sophia Bush Grabs Coffee with Friend Jedidiah Jenkins

Sophia Bush looks chic in a shoulder-baring dress while grabbing coffee with her friend Jedidiah Jenkins on Sunday (October 15) in Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old actress went to Oprah‘s Super Soul Sunday that afternoon with Jedidiah.

“Today was a day for the soul. A true #SuperSoulSunday thanks to sister @oprah. Made all the more glorious by the chosen family I was able to share it with,” Sophia wrote on Instagram.

“Now more than ever, we need to double down on the wisdom of the heart. Of community. Of togetherness. And Oprah’s new book, #TheWisdomOfSundays, gave us the chance to do just that. We celebrated her latest with a gospel brunch. She took us to church alright! We danced. We sang. We shared. We ATE! It was soul food, both literally and figuratively,” she added.

Kerry Washington, Angela Bassett, Common & More Stars Visit Oprah Winfrey's House for Gospel Brunch!

Oprah Winfrey is enjoying brunch with Kerry Washington, Common, Angela Bassett and a few more of her famous friends!

The media mogul hosted her Gospel Brunch event while celebrating the release of her book The Wisdom of Sundays at her home on Sunday (October 15) in Montecito, Calif.

The event was attended by plenty of major stars, including Diane Warren, Sophia Bush, Peter Roth, Angela Bassett, Ava Duvernay, Niecy Nash, George Lucas, and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

During the event, Common and Andra Day performed for the brunch-goers.

“Music, food, and friends. That’s what Sundays are for. #WisdomOfSundays,” Oprah wrote on her Instagram.

The Wisdom of Sundays: Life-Changing Insights from Super Soul Conversations, which features insights from Oprah‘s Super Soul Sunday television show, will be released on October 17.

Alyssa Milano's 'Me Too' Tweet Raises Sexual Assault Awareness

The term #MeToo trended on Twitter all day on Sunday (October 15), thanks in large part to Alyssa Milano.

In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal, the 44-year-old actress tweeted an idea: “Suggested by a friend: If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.”

“If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write ‘me too’ as a reply to this tweet,” she wrote.

Responses have come flooding in ever since from hundreds of women, including “me too” replies from Debra Messing and Anna Paquin.

Lea Thompson, Kristin Bauer, Sophia Bush and Anika Noni Rose are just a few of the other stars who have replied to the powerful movement.
