Stanley Tucci has nabbed a role in The Hunger Games, the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ smash hit novel.

The 50-year-old Devil Wears Prada actor will play Caesar Flickerman, an utterly familiar charafter to all the citizens of Panem as the host of the Hunger Games. Known for his outrageous appearance and buoyant personality, his upbeat interviews of the 24 tributes – a boy and a girl from each of the country’s 12 districts – are presented on every television in the nation. He is famous for turning any conversation around to the positive and finding humor in even the most dire circumstances.

Stanley joins Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane, and Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket.

Penn Badgley shares a laugh with his Easy A co-stars Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci at the Cairo Time event on Wednesday (December 15) at NYC’s Soho Grand Hotel.

The 24-year-old actor and Stanley came out to support Patricia‘s romantic drama Cairo Time.

Synopsis: Juliette (Clarkson) finds herself caught in a whirlwind romance with her husband’s friend Tareq (Alexander Siddig), a retired cop. As Tareq escorts Juliette around the city, they find themselves in the middle of a brief affair that catches them both unawares.

The movie follows Ali, a small-town girl with dreams of making it big in Los Angeles, only to land a cocktail waitress job at a lounge run by Cher‘s character, Tess.

Kristen Bell stars opposite Christina as Nikki, a rival dancer at the venue. Eric Dane, Stanley Tucci, and Cam Gigandet are also in the cast.

FYI: the film’s soundtrack hits shelves on November 16, just before the film comes out on November 24!

Stanley Tucci has signed on as Dr. Abraham Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger!

The 49-year-old actor, who most recently starred in Julie & Julia and The Lovely Bones, will star opposite Chris Evans in the franchise’s first film.

Dr. Erskine is a scientist behind Project Rebirth, an experiment that created Captain America!

Hayley Atwell and Sebastian Stan are also confirmed for the film! Captain America will hit theaters July 22, 2011.
