The musical Wicked is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Broadway this weekend!

The show recently made headlines amid the news that two of the stars of the upcoming film adaptation are reportedly dating in real life.

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater, who play Glinda and Boq, are rumored to be a new couple amid both of them recently separating from their spouses.

Tony Winner Stephanie J. Block Brings 'Into the Woods' to Los Angeles Straight from Broadway Alongside Star-Studded Cast!

The beloved Broadway musical Into the Woods is now playing in Los Angeles and many members of the recent Broadway revival cast are leading the production!

Tony winner Stephanie J. Block and her real-life husband Sebastian Arcelus, who lead the cast as the Baker’s Wife and Baker, hit the red carpet at the opening night event on Thursday (June 29) at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

They were joined by co-stars Montego Glover, Gavin Creel, Jason Forbach, Cole Thompson, Katy Geraghty, Diane Phelan, Nancy Opel, Josh Breckenridge, Felicia Curry, Ta’Nika Gibson, Brooke Ishibashi, Kennedy Kanagawa, and Alysia Velez.

Into the Woods first premiered on Broadway in 1987, winning three Tony Awards including Best Score and Best Book for Stephen Sondheim. It has since been produced throughout the world and was adapted into a major motion picture in 2014. This production marked its first time on Broadway in 20 years.

The tour is playing at Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre through July 30.

Broadway's 'Into the Woods' Announces Exciting New Cast Starting September 6!

The Broadway revival of Into the Woods will have a new cast starting September 6 and there are some exciting names on the list, including a real-life married couple!

Sara Bareilles led the cast of the revival when the show began performances earlier this summer following a successful two-week run at New York City Center. She will be leaving the show on September 4 alongside some other original cast members.

Tony Winners Stephanie J. Block & Patina Miller Return to Present at 2020 Awards Show

Lots of former Tony Award winners returned to the annual show to help honor the best of Broadway!

Stephanie J. Block and Patina Miller were among the former winners who presented at the 2020 Tony Awards on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

For those who don’t know, Stephanie won Best Actress in a Musical in 2019 for The Cher Show while Patina won the same award in 2013 for Pippin.

Other former Tony winners who appeared at the show to present included Bebe Neuwirth, Ruthie Ann Miles, and Cyndi Lauper.

Even though we’re in 2021, this is actually the 2020 Tony Awards because it’s the ceremony delayed from June 2020. The awards show will honor the best of Broadway’s 2019-20 season!

FYI: Stephanie is wearing a The Eight Senses dress. Patina is wearing a Markarian gown.

11 of Broadway's Elphabas Sang 'Defying Gravity' Together & The Ending Is Truly Epic (Video)

Shoshana Bean did something pretty epic for the virtual concert fundraiser she organized to support the high school she attended!

The Broadway star and singer was the second actress to play Elphaba in the musical Wicked and she gathered 10 other actresses who played the role to sing the act one finale number “Defying Gravity” with her.

Shoshana and the ten other women – Idina Menzel, Stephanie J. Block, Eden Espinosa, Jessica Vosk, Lindsay Mendez, Alexia Khadime, Julia Murney, Rachel Tucker, Kerry Ellis, and Lindsay Pearce – each sang a snippet from the song and then they all performed the final “ahhh” one after another.

The concert also featured performances from Cynthia Erivo, Jeremy Jordan, and student performers from across the Beaverton School District.

Broadway Star Stephanie J. Block Has Been Sending Money to Arts Workers Affected by Coronavirus Closures

Tony Award-winning actress Stephanie J. Block is doing her part to help people who work in the theater/arts industry and are out of work because of closures due to coronavirus.

The Broadway star found a thread on Twitter in which people are sharing their Venmo names and Stephanie has been sending money to a lot of them.

“Hey theater folks: if you’re hourly, weekly, etc, and have had work cancelled and are *not getting paid*, respond to this thread with your Venmo account, please,” Twitter user Jenna Clark Embrey wrote on Thursday after Broadway was shut down.

Stephanie replied to tweets with a green check mark whenever she sent money to someone.

Sarah Silverman's New Musical Casts Tony Winners Stephanie J. Block & Linda Lavin!

Sarah Silverman has written a musical based on her memoir The Bedwetter and the cast has been set for the upcoming off-Broadway premiere!

Tony winners Stephanie J. Block and Linda Lavin will be starring in the musical alongside young actresses Sami Bray and Zoe Glick, who will share the role of 10-year-old Sarah.

Stephanie will play Sarah’s mother Beth Ann and Linda will be playing Nana.

The musical will begin performances on April 25 at the Atlantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater and opening night is set for May 20. The limited engagement will conclude on June 14, according to Deadline.

Sarah co-wrote the book with Joshua Harmon and she co-wrote the score with Adam Schlesinger. Anne Kauffman will direct the musical.
