'Boardwalk Empire' Ending Series After Upcoming Fifth Season

HBO’s hit series Boardwalk Empire will complete its run after the upcoming fifth season in fall 2014, the network has confirmed.

The news was revealed during HBO’s panel at the 2014 TCA Winter Tour on Thursday (January 9).

Boardwalk Empire, which stars Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald, and Michael Shannon, debuted back in 2010 and was nominated for eighteen Emmy Awards for its first season. It also won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama for the first season.

“After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we’ve decided to wrap the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion,” series creator Terence Winter said in a statement.

The fourth season of Boardwalk Empire is set to premiere on September 8, with the season finale set to air on November 24.

It’s the frat boys versus the grown ups in the trailer for the upcoming comedy flick Grown Ups 2!
