David Ruprecht 2020 Update: Here's What the 'Supermarket Sweep' Host Is Doing Now!

Supermarket Sweep is now streaming on Netflix and people are falling in love with the show and host David Ruprecht all over again!

The series originally launched in the 1960s as an ABC game show and it was later rebooted in 1990 as a Lifetime series. David hosted this version and it lasted five years before going off the air in 1995.

Thanks to the success of reruns, Supermarket Sweep returned with David as the host once again in 2000 on the PAX network.

After the show ended again in 2003, David has had small roles on television shows like Joan of Arcadia, Cold Case, True Blood, and The Bold and the Beautiful. He most recently appeared in a movie called The Author, The Star, and The Keeper, which was released on VOD last month.

Supermarket Sweep is getting a reboot on ABC with SNL‘s Leslie Jones as the host and David said he would love to be involved in the series.

“I would love to be part in any way to carry on the legacy of Supermarket Sweep,” he told TMZ. “And yes, there is some interest in me doing the announcing… I have not heard anything. I do know I’m still in the running for it.”
