Michael B. Jordan & Oprah Winfrey Join 'David Makes Man' Cast at Show's Premiere

Michael B. Jordan and Oprah Winfrey are all smiles on the pink carpet at the premiere of David Makes Man on Tuesday night (August 6) at the NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles.

The stars were joined at the event by the show’s creator Tarell Alvin McCraney – who won the Academy Award for Best Writing Adapted Screenplay for Moonlight – along with the show’s star Akili McDowell.

Here’s the show synopsis: A 14-year-old prodigy’s mother relies on him to find a way out of poverty, but he is haunted by the death of his friend; he must choose between the streets that raised him or the higher education that may offer him a way out.

Also in attendance at the premiere was Michael‘s mom Donna.

David Makes Man premieres on OWN on Wednesday, August 14 at 10pm ET. Check out the trailer now.

Julianna Margulies & Ellie Kemper Attend Writers Guild Awards 2019 in NYC

Julianna Margulies dazzles on the red carpet as she arrives at the 2019 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday night (February 17) at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

The 52-year-old actress looked pretty in a white dress covered in diamonds as she was joined at the event by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper.

Other stars at the awards show included Amy Sedaris, Alfonso Curan, Kenan Thompson, Dean Winters, Gillian Flynn, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Moore, Michael Torpey, Tarell Alvin McCraney, and MJ Rodriguez.

A ceremony for the awards show is being held in both New York City and Los Angeles.

Zazie Beetz & Zachary Quinto Premiere 'High Flying Bird' in NYC

Zazie Beetz hits the black carpet at the screening of High Flying Bird on Thursday night (February 7) at the Walter Reade Theater in New York City.

The 27-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-star Zachary Quinto as they promoted their new Netflix film.

Moonlight’s Barry Jenkins Wins at Oscars 2017, Gets Standing Ovation!

Barry Jenkins and co-writer Tarell Alvin McCraney hit the stage to accept their award at the 2017 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 26) in Hollywood.

The Moonlight writers won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay for their work on the film. Barry, who directed the indie hit, adapted the script for Tarell‘s play.

“All you people who feel like there’s no mirror for you… we have your back… for the next 4 years we won’t forget you,” Barry said during the speech.

“This goes out to all those black and brown boys, girls and non-gender conforming who don’t see themselves… this is for you,” Tarell added.
