Tavi Gevinson speaks animatedly while on stage at the Gramercy Theatre for her In Conversation panel discussion during the The New Yorker Festival on Sunday morning (October 9) in New York City.

The 20-year-old writer and actress spoke about her career with New Yorker staff writer Hilton Als.

Tavi is currently on Broadway performing in previews of the play The Cherry Orchard alongside Diane Lane.

The Cherry Orchard was written by Anton Checkhov and is about a family on the edge of ruin�”and a country on the brink of revolution.

The group of powerhouse women, which also included Dakota Fanning, Kiernan Shipka, Amandla Stenberg, Hailey Baldwin, Jenna Dewan, Tavi Gevinson, Andra Day, Pyper America Smith, Starlie Smith and Daisy Clementine Smith, were asked what it meant to be a woman in 2016 and to define themselves. Rowan’s definition: “Rowan Blanchard wants to help other people, pretend to be other people, and become a flower child and move to the woods in this princess dress!”

Ashley’s definition: “Ashley Graham is a girls’ girl, a Beyoncé fan, and a Snapchat artist who never turns down an opportunity to dance in her underwear. She believes that words have power�”and that every woman should remind herself every day that she is bold, brilliant, and beautiful.”

Ciara’s definition: Ciara is a military baby proud to be the child of two parents who served our country. She loves cheeseburgers and Southern cuisine.”

Sarah’s definition: “Sarah Paulson is a film, stage, and television actress who is excited and hopeful at this precipice of change in America.”

Saoirse Ronan and Sophie Okonedo walk the red carpet at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The ladies both star in the new production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible and Sophie was nominated for her work in the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play category.

Also in attendance were their co-stars Tavi Gevinson and Bill Camp, the latter of whom was nominated and brought along his wife Elizabeth Marvel.

The stars of “Hamilton” get into character for the June issue of Vogue, which highlights some of the best productions currently running on Broadway.

In the Broadway spread, model Joan Smalls photographs alongside the casts of several productions, including Saoirse Ronan and Tavi Gunderson from “The Crucible,” as well as with Tony Awards host James Corden.

“It’s a monumental year,” James said of the most recent Broadway season.

“Hamilton” creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda added, “Alexander Hamilton‘s story grabbed ahold of me and never let go. I knew this guy.”

Juno Temple arrives on the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 26-year-old Vinyl star wore a shimmering Erdem gown to the event and was accompanied by the designer as her date.

Juno took to Instagram to post a photo of the two before they left for the gala, writing, “Best prom date ever.”

Also in attendance was fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson, who opted for a shorter dress.

Danai Gurira shows off her gorgeous blue gown while attending the opening night for her new Broadway play Eclipsed held at The Golden Theatre on Sunday (March 6) in New York City.

The 38-year-old actress, who wrote the play, was joined by Jackie Cruz, La La Anthony, Gloria Steinem, and Tavi Gevinson.

Eclipsed “is the story of five extraordinary women brought together by upheaval in their homeland of Liberia. They forge a close-knit community…one that inspires them to feats of increasingly greater strength.”
