Ted Cruz Admits He Was Going to Stay in Cancun Until Sunday, Despite Previous Statement

Ted Cruz is really living up to that “Lyin’ Ted” nickname that Donald Trump gave him during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The Texas senator now admits that he was planning on staying in Cancun, Mexico until Sunday, just hours after he flew back home to Texas amid backlash for his vacation.

Cruz was spotted taking a trip to Mexico with his family on Wednesday (February 18) while thousands of people in his state are still suffering through a winter storm. Millions of people had power outages throughout this week and there are still many whose power hasn’t been restored. The senator was criticized for going on vacation instead of taking care of the people he represents.

After the backlash, Cruz released a statement saying that he traveled to Mexico to accompany his daughters on a trip with their friends and that he was flying right back to Texas.

Cruz‘s original travel plans were later revealed and his wife’s text messages to neighbors were also leaked online.

Now, Cruz is finally telling the truth.

Kacey Musgraves Fundraises for Texas Charities with T-Shirt Trolling Ted Cruz

Kacey Musgraves is helping out Texans – while trolling Senator Ted Cruz.

The 32-year-old six-time Grammy winner has announced that she is selling a new T-shirt aimed at the senator with proceeds going to Texas charities amid winter storm Uri.

“Texas is cold, I can be cold,” Kacey tweeted along with a link to her website where she is selling a T-shirt that has “CRUZIN’ FOR A BRUZIN’” written across it.

Kacey‘s dig at Cruz comes after he decided to fly to Cancun while his state of Texas is in the middle of a giant crisis right now because of the winter storms, which have caused the power to go out across the state. Many people are dealing with floods, no heat, no water, and other issues.

Cruz claimed that he only traveled to Cancun to accompany his daughters on a trip with his friends and that he was planning on traveling back the next day.

Now, a new report has revealed what the senator’s original travel plans were. Get the latest here.

Ted Cruz's Wife Heidi Seemingly Coordinated the Cancun Trip, According to Texts Leaked by Her Neighbors

A new report about Ted Cruz‘s trip to Cancun is revealing some more details about how the trip was organized.

The New York Times obtained text messages that Ted‘s wife Heidi Cruz allegedly sent to friends and Houston neighbors on Wednesday (February 17), the same day they were spotted flying to Mexico.

Heidi reportedly told her close friends that their house was “FREEZING” after losing power and she allegedly proposed that they travel to Mexico until Sunday.

In the alleged text messages, Heidi said that her family would be staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Cancun and that rooms were available for $309 a night. She noted that they had stayed there “many times” and that it has good security.

Two people on the text message thread confirmed to The New York Times that she sent the messages.

Cruz is one of the senators from Texas and the state is currently in the middle of a major crisis because of the winter storms that hit the area. He was slammed for taking a trip instead of helping the people who elected him to office.

After releasing a statement claiming that he was just flying to Cancun to drop off his daughters, Ted‘s original travel plans were revealed and they dispute that claim.

Ted Cruz Blames His Daughters After Getting Backlash for Going on Vacation Amid Deadly Texas Winter Storm

Ted Cruz is speaking out about taking a vacation while his home state deals with a weather crisis.

The 50-year-old Texas Senator issued a statement Thursday (February 18) after being called out for traveling to Cancun with family in the middle of a historic deep freeze, which has killed at least 21 people and knocked out power to more than 4 million people across the state.

“This has been an infuriating week for Texans. The greatest state in the greatest country in the world has been without power. We have food lines, gas lines, and people sleeping at the neighbors’ houses. Our homes are freezing and our lights are out. Like millions of Texans, our family lost heat and power too,” he wrote.

“With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends. Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon. My staff and I are in constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas. We want our power back, our water on, and our homes warm. My team and I will continue using all our resources to keep Texans informed and safe.”

Senator Ted Cruz Getting Slammed For Traveling to Cancun Amid Deadly Winter Storm in Texas

Ted Cruz is coming under fire.

Late Wednesday night (February 17), Twitter erupted after the 50-year-old Texas Senator was photographed boarding a plane to Cancun while his state is in the middle of a crisis.

“Just confirmed @SenTedCruz and his family flew to Cancun tonight for a few days at a resort they’ve visited before. Cruz seems to believe there isn’t much for him to do in Texas for the millions of fellow Texans who remain without electricity/water and are literally freezing,” journalist David Shuster tweeted along with photos of Cruz aboard the plane.

Texas is currently experiencing a historic deep freeze, which has killed at least 21 people and knocked out power to more than 4 million people across the state.

After the photos went viral, users – including celebrities – took to Twitter to slam Cruz for traveling to the island while leaving his state to fend for its self.

“Ted Cruz tweeting a glowing tribute to Rush Limbaugh from a resort in Cancun (where he flew tonight while his constituents are literally freezing to death) is peak @GOP,” Padma Lakshmi tweeted.

Senator Ted Cruz has not addressed his trip to Cancun yet.

Ted Cruz Trends on Twitter for This Tweet, Gets Into Feud with Seth Rogen

Texas Senator Ted Cruz‘s tweet about the Paris Climate Agreement and President Joe Biden‘s intention for the United States to rejoin the worldwide pact to reduce emissions is going viral and he’s being publicly called out by actor Seth Rogen.

“By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans,” Cruz tweeted.

The Paris Climate Agreement does not benefit the citizens of Paris directly, rather, the world. The reason the Paris Climate Agreement is named after the city is because it was signed there in 2015 by world leaders. The United States is actually the 2nd largest producer of carbon emissions, behind number one, China.

Well, Seth saw this tweet and quickly told him off.
