The Avengers has once again reigned supreme at the weekend box office!

Bringing in an estimated $55.1 million dollars this weekend, the superhero flick took the top slot for the third week in a row. Domestically, the film has grossed $457.1 million. Globally, the flick has brought in $1.18 billion, making it the number four movie of all time, according to THR. Wow!!

Alexander Skarsgard and Rihanna‘s flick Battleship took the number two spot with $25.3 million this weekend. Sacha Baron Cohen‘s The Dictator came in at number three with $17.4 million.

Rounding out the top five was Johnny Depp‘s Dark Shadows and Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz‘s What to Expect When You’re Expecting, grossing $12.8 million and $10.5 million, respectively.

The smash hit film The Avengers has passed the $1 billion dollar gross mark worldwide!!

This past weekend, the action hero flick raked in $103.2 million domestically, leading the Friday-Sunday box office ranking, according to the LA Times. The Avengers made more money in its second weekend than any other movie in history!

Since opening internationally, the movie has made $628.9 million, combined with the domestic total of $373.2 million, The Avengers has made over one billion dollars worldwide. WOW!

Coming in second was Johnny Depp and Chloe Moretz‘s film Dark Shadows, which brought in an estimated $28.8 million in its opening weekend. Third place went to Think Like A Man with $6.3 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Hunger Games and The Lucky One, making $4.4 and $4 million, respectively.

It’s official – there’s a sequel underway for The Avengers!

Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement during a conference call, calling the action flick’s success “a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much.”

The Avengers – co-starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Tom Hiddleston – smashed its competition at the box office this weekend.

It has earned more than $700 million worldwide in less than two weeks – one of the best showings of all time, THR notes.

The Avengers has blown it’s weekend box office competition out of the water!!!

The superhero flick opened this weekend to a whopping $200.3 million, making it the biggest opening weekend of all time in North American history, according to THR. The previous record holder, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, opened with $169.2 million.

Worldwide, The Avengers has made an amazing $641.8 million so far.

Coming in second was Think Like A Man, bringing in approximately $8 million. The Hunger Games came in third with $5.7 million, with The Lucky One coming in just below at $5.5 million. Rounding out the top five was The Pirates! Band of Misfits with $5.4 million.

Chris Evans keeps it casual at The Avengers photocall in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Tuesday (April 10).

The 30-year-old Captain America stud is gearing up for the release of The Avengers, Marvel’s latest live action film, due in theaters May 4.

Tomorrow, Just Jared will be on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of The Avengers. We’ll be working with veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project thanks to Red Baron Pizza!

Chris will also be reprising the titular role in the Captain America sequel, which recently got a release date – April 4, 2014!

Scarlett Johansson kicks some major butt in this just released clip from The Avengers.

The 27-year-old actress takes on the role of the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanoff), opposite Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Asked which hero had the most uncomfortable costume on set, Scarlett told reporters she thought it was hers.

“I’m talking about that it’s like 800 degrees in my costume … and it’s a unitard, and I have nothing underneath it!” she shared.
