Richard‘s bandmate Dan Auerbach confirmed the news shortly after his passing on Tuesday (July 3) on social media.

“Today the world lost one of the most talented musicians I know,” Dan wrote in a post on Instagram. “He’s now with his Mom and Sister. I will miss you my friend.”

Richard toured as the bassist for The Black Keys back in 2014. While also performing in other indie bands including the Arcs and The Shins.
